  1. You cant get a bassinet and a seat for infant thats what many have told me and also the airline one or the other,i looked into this for weeks asking questions and was not sure what to do,i had miles to use with singapore airlines so used them and part cash and,it was do we go with bassinet or her own seat, when we travel our infant will be 9 months, she might be better then but right now can be restless our your lap,not only that i heard that in the bassinet that with turbalance you have to take them out everytime.i thought this could be a nightmare when we got her settled and they have to wake her etc. I looked into taking a car seat and one that came up many times was the britax prince seat which is one that airlines are ok with,so we have one of them to travel with,so we went with getting her own seat, she can sleep in it when she wants and not have to be woken up and we also have the option of her sitting on lap. We could have got just went as lap child but as i used miles etc i thought it was worth it anyway, not only that she gets full baggage allowance like us for having her own seat which is a bonus when your moving to australia, only prob is taking the seat with us but hey have purchased a bag to carry it in,god thinking about it now we are gonna have some amount of stuff a stroller, car seat, all our cases, hand luggage our infant, lol
  2. your saying this about halifax and below is what was said by another: I think they do, I also consulted a mortgage broker and she said that at the moment if you have a mortgage with Halifax they will let you do it. This was my other option to transfer our mortgage to the Halifax as they allow you to sub-let. No sure of the charges if you are already a customer, but to get a new mortgage with them at the moment there was no fee and free legals, so its worth asking the question So what do halifax want when it comes to this,i would rather not say to be honest,im really getting confused about all this,i cant see me getting the house sold soon so be looking to rent,im not sure if using an agent or if to get my parents to look after etc,and did i hear right that australia takes tax from you on what you earn on the rent? I would still be paying my mortgage, hoping that the rent im charging would cover it and also a bit left over to send over to oz,did i hear you get taxed on this, how would they know in oz,is there taxes to pay in uk also, there seems to be a lot of issue, info on just renting a house in the uk while living overseas is it worth it to be honest renting property in the uk or is it we have no choice and cant sell so other option is to rent?
  3. Has anyone moved to oz,rented there home and not told bank with halifax?I have about 6 yrs left with my mortgage and never missed a payment,i did not even know you was supposed to tell them you might be renting, this might be an option for me renting if it does not sell, one of you guys said that for a fee of £250 you paid bank and they said ok to rent etc,if i knew this was the case with halifax i might do this but if they was gonna boost up the monthly payment and punish me with extra charges by telling them and being honest they why should i,whats the worst or what happens if you dont,i see some of you have said nothing can they find out, whats it all mean?
  4. So you need to be getting an income to get this then or does this get paid out if your not,i thought someone on a pr visa arriving to oz does not get any help for first two years has this changed? So whats this rent assistance about? and whats the child care assistance about also family benefit a and b? I hope to be in work before i get to oz or soon after and i hope to not be out of work much when i over there if it happens,i will be coming with my wife and at the time of travel 9 month old,so if im working or not are we able to apply for some of these things or what are the reasons you get it,also here in the uk child benefit everyone get it and i applied for it when i girl was born, but its all changing now depending on what you earn. I would like to know when i arrive there what i am allowed to apply for get,or what i can get for my wife or child if or not i was working etc
  5. Im moving to perth may 2013 have been to oz many times, checked out areas not all and have seen a few areas getting bigger while i was there, this was a few years ago now,im not sure where i want to settle north or south, just dont have a clue. I was wondering with most of you where did you go,why there and any feedback about that area, was there an area you had planned on going to and did say rent but ended up somewhere else. Be good to know if schools on the area are good as we have a girl who is 9 months old when we leave, so will need to go to school later in life. Also distance from beach, crime in the area, train and busses in the area, doing the shopping and just general location of where it is to places nearby. Where you work and does that factor into why you moved there etc.House prices was it less or more in the area you picked
  6. Will you be putting your findings on here im very interested in this to compare
  7. Im in the broch going to oz in may not sure if to sell or rent, might be a little late to sell now,but i maybe intersted in renting, but i dont even know where to start and if its worth renting vs selling if i have a buyer, anyone know the fees involved in using a company like this, who are ones in my area who do i look for?is there issues earning money from your rented place staying in australia,ok if i dont sell my house then i have no option but to rent,so would be interested to find out more as i might just have to do the same, can family member here not deal with it etc?

  9. Is it worth taking a car to australia or really if its a high value car or vintage, reason i ask just thinking there maybe i can take mine, but to be honest its a 2006 now is it really worth it. I was planning on just shipping my household stuff and get a 20ft container but was thinking maybe i could get a 40ft one and ship car as well,do the shipper ship cars and your household stuff in same container?whats the changes of car getting damaged while household stuff is in there. I wonder price of 40ft vs a 20ft is it worth it with adding a car, what costs are involved when taking a car do you pay fees or other stuff when taking a car,i only have got a astra and i go it from almost new but i thought probably best sell it and with that money get something over there is this a better option, just someone said to me take car im just not sure now, cost of bigger container and maybe other costs vs buying another car over there is it worth it and are parts available over there for astra,i see there are cars like it but they seem to be called holden and not vauxhall are they the same company
  10. We actually carry a packet with us every where we go. It has come in handy more than once. It covers everything really...has copies of our passports, birth certs, marriage license, banking info, proof of address, visa approvals, etc.....basically it's our life on paper. In regards to making the packets,so what is too much info and where do you draw the line on the info you supply, give, are some of these details safe to give an agent? Is norm to give a bank statement showing how much money you have or your bank details on it,would a oz bank account be better than a uk one when it comes to bank account.proof of address i take this is your current short term rental or would this be your old uk address. other than the stuff below what can you add to the packet or is there enough mentioned or just too much,i take only gives these to an agent?and not a person you might rent from private? Driving licence oz credit cards oz or uk? bank account oz or uk? passports medicare visa approvals proof of address marriage licence birth certs Or is bank confirming mortgage payments all you need or with all or some above
  11. would that be a letter from my mortgage company and not from my bank showing the pyments as my payments from my bank are they sent to my mortgage company i take you are saying them as they are who get paid?
  12. its a shame your not in perth as a reference should like the way to go,i dont rent back here in uk but own,so i wonder if i went over to perth and did not rent a place short term how i can get this sort of reference, maybe i just need to do a short term rent to just get the reference we need, but i take not all would give this?
  13. Do you really need to show as much personal papers as that to get rent,i take its safe to give this personal info like bank info etc etc when you say doing things in packets im not sure what you mean there, copies of passports and all stuff mentioned above and did you say when you at that property viewing and ask for an application your normally told get one from the net is this always the case?if so how do they get the application afterwards you drop it off, post it or fill it in online and sumit and how do they know the application you have filled in is with the pack you made, dont they or could they not misplace it,but im interested to know more if this helps,im going in 2013 and plan on short term holiday rental and apply for long term rentals while there so this idea if help i will try, tell me more
