    Residency Status

Sorry for the delay in replying. Unfortunately despite sending my old passports with the old ATR stamps they have no record of me and suggested I apply for a RRV 155/157. I imagine the most I could hope for would be a three-month 157 and if it's unsuccessful apply for a spouse visa. Is it worth asking a migration expert the likelihood of acceptance or would that cost be more than the price of the RRV 155 application fee!
  2. I am helping my daughter with her Citizenship by Descent. We have the same problem as she has worked as cabin crew for the past 12 years! Think we'll just list all trips in her passport that have stamps. Not all have exit stamps and some have Arabic dates! I did email the helpdesk and they just said I could add an attachment! Is there unlimited space in the form for dozens of flights. I don't know whether the attachment is to explain her profession or to add additional flights over and above what will fit in the form.
  3. Often people are shocked when they're moving from a low cost part of the UK that they can't afford a 4-bed detached property with pool a stone's throw from Melbourne etc. The show never seems to suggest that if they look at a different city or go further from the CBD that it could work for them. Unfortunately Sydney is no longer shown in the series presumably due to affordability.

This is so helpful. I've sent off an email to the DIBP. I'll post the result.

Sorry I did mean Medicare. I won't be looking for employment. Is there anyway I can find out what visa I had? Do records go back that far. I suppose my employer might still have a record but maybe it wouldn't be of any use. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have no idea as it was 35 years ago! My passport at the time had an entry that I could return at any time as I had married but I no longer have it. I think it must have been a two year working holiday visa. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. My husband is Australian and our children have acquired citizenship by descent. I am a UK citizen and we have been living in the UK for 30 years. (We previously lived, worked and owned property in Australia for eight years.) If we want to purchase property and live in Australia what kind of permanent residency or citizenship should I apply for and what are the costs? I imagine the main benefit of this for me would be for Medibank coverage. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I'd like advice on ordering presents in the UK for relatives in Oz. Few companies accept UK credit cards and the only one I've found needs the purchaser to collect the goods and show the card so I'm having to get a refund! Another has told me I can use Paypal but this costs a lot in poor exchange rates and fees on top. Why no Amazon I'd be lost without them but the don't ship to Oz
