So today I receive my letter inviting me to attend a Citizenship "Appointment Ceremony" I quote "Due to waiting periods for Council Ceremonies I am inviting you to attend a simple Ceremony where there will be NO refreshments OR speeches OR gifts at our Regional Office" Disappointed.com!!!! GRATEFUL to finally have a date BUT am I wrong to feel somewhat "short changed" in all this? I Was truly looking forward to all the "pomp and ceremony" etc etc

JimDad Understand your concerns but just get on with enjoying the "Adventure"................the rest will take care of itself Oz to France and myself seem to be at similar stages of our lives and for us we just feel it's time for the next chapter to begin so to speak........France and Spain respectively! I can now only speak for myself but I have loved it, lived it and embraced all that OZ has to offer BUT I feel it's now my time to move on for a whole host of reasons.................Am I scared..........Of course I am but I have a great saying "Life Is A Journey, Not A Destination" It's not for everyone but it works for me You have made a wonderful decision to come here but as you said only time will tell....................in the meantime just go with the flow and embrace all it has to offer..................Only you will know when that changes All the best

Oh, ok...........thanks for that! My own experience I had to have 457 medicals for ALL the Family in the UK then again for ALL when we applied for PR in Sydney and I don't work in Health or Education I'm aware that Immigration changes on an almost daily basis though so thanks for your response

Doesn't Everyone on a 457 Visa have to have a medical??? Please correct me if I'm wrong...............

I was in the same position Nothing specific to consider, just be yourself and enjoy it! I have worked for the same company since I arrived.............. The job market really is your own choice and what you wish to do you just need to provide a copy of your Visa/Passport to employers so that they know you are legal to work Good Luck

I work for these Airlines and can reassure you that whichever one you choose your Child will be perfectly safe and accompanied ALL the way even during transit stopovers! They will NOT release the Child the other end until appropriate ID is observed and signed etc I would have no hesitation sending my 11 year old if that helps allay your fears?
