  1. Thanks for the advice. Will look into moneycorp
  2. We have just sold our house in the uk and want to bring the profit over to Australia to use as a deposit. It's not a lot £25k at the most. Do we pay tax on it leaving the uk or entering oz? Should we get an accountant to sort it out? Many thanks for your advice
  3. It's been a tough few months but we leave friday and can't wait to see hubbie again so we can be a family altogether. My boys r soooo excited. A bit apprehensive as I will be leaving my teaching job tomorrow but once my boys r settled I will start to look for a position. Just want to submerse into oz culture get my boys meeting new friends and being a family again. Can't believe it's actually happening. My hubbie is amazing to get the job, persevere, find a house To rent unpack the house all ready for us on Sunday. Whatever happens we will give it our best shot with no regrets
  4. We are finally joining my husband on the 29march. Hubbie is viewing properties so fingers crossed for this weekend. We have 2 young boys 4 and 1. Any other young families based in the area offering advice???! Need to get my 4 year old swimming lessons and he loves gymnastics so need to find clubs. Any good pre schools?? Can't afford much for pre school so will try and get him in some morning sessions. Apprehensive but know the boys will have love the beach life. We visited Terrigal lasts year and enjoyed what it had to offer Any friendly advice on clubs, getting involved in the area with kids and generally settling in would be great. From excited but apprehensive tinker bell

  10. Hubbie is living in Terrigal as we found a lovely school for our oldest son to go to. I am a teacher but know it is difficult to get a job. I think it's too late and hubbie will have to return. He loves Sydney and so do I but if the money is not there then I don't see what choice we have.
  11. Need some perspective really. Hubbie went out to Sydney in October but only found a job in December and it's not great money. About $60k + sup. we were planning to join him in march but don't think we can survive on it. Hubbie trying to look for a better job but it's taking time. My boys are missing their daddy and we are living with my parents as we rented our house out already. Our shipment has arrived in Sydney and cannot afford to ship it back. What would you do. Go out and try and survive on the money or get Hubble to return?
  12. We told our mortgage provider, sent forms to us and that was it. No Higher payments nothing. Very pleased to say the least
