My twins are good, all done high school now, going for a gap year before they decide what to do for further education. Just got to get them a job now, so they can save for college. Did you ever go to the Maze in Bullsbrook??

 5.

Hi Alan, Mandurah is lovely, I could have easily lived there, loved the foreshore, I think it is better than Perth IMO. Have you done the cruise of the canals yet, go at xmas, it's lovely, all the houses have lights up. Just so pleased that you were able to find something, I was worried about you. This emigrating lark sure is fun sometimes.... NOT lol

Hi Dave,

Back home now after being at work. Okay when I applied foir the SSV I put down, that I had researched WA on the internet. As far as cost of living goes, I put down that rent for a house would be anywhere from $1,300.00 to $2,200 a month dependent on area, petrol prices I estimated at around $500.00 a month/ again dependent on how far house to work is. Groceries for a family of four I estimated at approx $1,000 a month. I said that I got the figures from going onto REIWA and looking at rental prices and that I also had a friend in Perth who had informed me of the cost of everyday living.

As far as the minimum amount required for WA, the amount is $25,000.00. This is basically to cover yourselves for the first year until you can find employment. As a PR you are entitled to medicare, however, you are not eligible for other benefits for two years, these benefits included unemployment insurance.

What type of work are you involved in, this is just a personal question from me, not peratinaing to the SSV application.

When we got our approval back, they picked three areas for us, one of them being Peel. It actually worked out better as Manurah is the fastest growing regional city in the whole of WA, houses are a little cheaper than Perth Metro and it now has a direct train link to Perth (only takes 45 minutes to get into downtown), also it looks a great city to raise kids in, it has a canal system and the bottlenose dolphines swim in from the Indian Ocean. It looks like paradise.

Don't go by the forums, one person said that you needed like $150,000.00 as the minimum, I acutally called down to the WA state immi department and that is where I got the figure of $25,000.00 from.

Actually the process of doing the application by yourself is not that hard, I must admit I am very organized and I love to research so that is maybe why I am not finding it difficult, also as you can tell by my timelines things happen to fall into place very quickly for us.
