  1. Why do you just say it about the UK, am sure people do this to every Queen no matter what country
  2. Well you have your citizenship so you have nothing to lose. Why not try going back to the UK, it will give you a break and maybe easier for you to pick up some work somewhere. If you decide its the wrong thing, give yourself a time say 6-12 months, at least if you get a job you can save up some cash and try Australia again, maybe a different place or State, its a big country!
  3. I think you maybe jumping the gun a bit, just because they say they would be interested doesnt mean they are offering you sponsorship. I would get something more concrete than that before I made any arrangements.
  4. You go to Department of Transport with your Vic Plates ask to change your rego to WA. If you have owned it less than 12 months you need a roadworthy, doesnt matter how old the vehicle is, i had only owned mine for 5 months and it was only just over a year old. They will give you a receipt for your plates and you send that to Vic Roads with a form you will get on their website, sorry cant remember the number and they will refund any Rego that you still have on your car in Vic. You will need to pay the full rego cost here either 6 months or a year. You will also need to change your licence if you have already changed from UK to Victoria. They dont charge you for that and honour the expiry date.

    Childcare

Well you must have known that you would have to pay full childcare fees before you accepted your 457 visa, so why complain now?
  6. If the car was on finance, was it really yours to sell?
  7. As already asked who's got the car?
  8. I dont have it but its not just how you are now, they take into account how bad it may get in the future and how much it might cost in medicare. Hope its ok though and you can get your visa
  9. But that is is job to help you gain a visa not with licencing. For that job you may just need a restricted licence. What state are you going to? Contact the licencing authority in the state and they will give you all the licencing information. Each state has their own licencing authority and different requirements and you can only actually get a licence once you have either an ARTC or an OSTR and are in Australia.
  10. The skilled visa will not allow him to work as an electrician. A visa does not mean you are licensed, he will still need to gain an Electrical licence in whatever state he chooses to go to.
  11. if you have Pr already why do you need to go through a skills assessment? It has changed a lot so am not sure nowbut you should need an ARTC the apply for your licence through energy safe just ignore this I have just read what you need to do now it has changed a lot!
  12. Dont be so ridiculous! Why would anyone want to lie about their bill - here's ours to show definately not understated.
  13. If you are renting the landlord pays the rates so unless you are planning to buy right away you can forget that for a while. You will need to pay water usage though. got that bill today as well $70 since 10/2 till 17/4 but there is only two of us 4 weeks out of 5.
  14. Dont know yet only been back from WA for a couple of months, lived here previously though and I cant ever remember having huge bills
  15. gas bill in today $149 for 67 days for a 4x2. There are 2 of us for 4 weeks and 3 of us on the 5 week, have had heating on in the early mornings and late evenings for a bit.
  16. Its my OH that is a spark, got a bit quiet here just now on the jobs, he was in the mines finding a bit harder than the last year or so, they keep asking for more and more tickets! Hopefully will pick up soon, some of them seem to be starting to man up. We started off in Melbourne but came over here as he was doing FIFO at the time.
  17. Hi all states have their own way of doing the licence, no wonder it gets confusing, here is a link for Queensland, hope it helps. http://www.justice.qld.gov.au/fair-and-safe-work/electrical-safety/licensing/apply-for-an-electrical-work-licence/electrical-work-licencepermit-other-than-apprentice P.s We are from Dunfermline too!
  18. I think you will find it very hard to find a sponsor as an electrician. Companies now have to prove they have advertised locally first and there will be so many tradies already looking for a job.
  19. Stacey - you have got a dirty mind!
  20. I have never heard that either, most of the kids have backpacks and that's what they call them or just simply bags
  21. does it matter about 24hr shopping? how often did you go shopping at 3am? Kmart is open 24 hrs in Melbourne, supermarkets don't charge for bags here except Aldi, and not all shops are shut on holidays usually just the small independent ones,
  22. Things have changed so much since my OH got his licence so I cant really help with what to do, but as you already have a visa I don't think you need to go through vettassess, they assess for migration purposes not licencing. You will still need an ARTC. That used to be almost the same as applying to the TRA (before vettassess) but with even more information.
  23. As I already tried to tell him he will have to go through the same application for PR as everyone else.
  24. I don't know where you got that information from but it is sooo wrong! You will not get a PR visa just because you have an ARTC, you will have to go throught the same process as everyone else.
  25. It does say (including any conviction which is now removed from official records) so why did you assume you didn't have to? I don't think a shoplifting charge would stop your visa but you might have some explaining to do
