  1. Even if you wern't pregnant, it might take months for you to find a job anyway! If you are PR you will be able to get family tax A and B depending on what your partner earns if he is employed.
  2. maybe, am sure if there is a way you will find it!
  3. Maybe Centrelink will pay your mortgage as well then if you ask!
  4. same for everyone over that limit. You know fine well you will be over the limit but still think you should get benefits? If you knew you were going to be over the limit you should have informed them and not taken the benefit then you wouldnt have to pay it back! its not your money if you are not entitled to it. Why should the tax payer boost your salary by another $4000?
  5. why should you get it if you dont qualify?
  6. Hahahaha! I remember how much you hated the place to start with, glad your liking it a bit better now.
  7. If I had 1.3million I wouldnt be buying in Mindarie!
  8. We use Direct line for landlord insurance. I think it would be different insurance for a holiday Let as it can only be unoccupied for a certain number of days under landlord insurance
  9. I think you need to take your time and think it through before you make any impulsive decisions about returning. You dont want to go from the frying pan into the fire. Where would you live, its quite expensive now to rent in the UK as well. We rent a small 2 bedroom semi out and were surprised what we can get in rental for it now. Also you wont be entitled to any benefits for a bit either. Do your kids want to go back or are they just going along with what you want as they see your are stressed? If your husband is doing FIFO just now he will be making plenty of money at the moment to support the kids, tell him you will go through CSA or whatever if he wont give you more at the moment. I am a FIFO wife so I know it can be hard when there are issues and you are on your own. I have returned twice to Scotland (very impulsive and expensive mistakes, and I done it TWICE!!!) and have came back. Am not trying to tell you not to go, just pointing out not to rush into a decision when you are so stressed. Where about are you? maybe someone on here is close to you and can have a coffee and a chat, would help you just talking to a friendly face :-)
  10. This company cannot issue an New Zealand Licence, they can give you the training, but you still need to apply to the EWRB in New Zealand for your registration and licence.
  11. I think the licencing authorities might check how long you have actually had the licence for and if they know it is a newly issued licence to an overseas worker they might still insist on you doing the training in their state. Even though there is mutual recognition not every state will transfer your licence - Victoria is very difficult to do this in.
  12. probably because its the name of a Migration agent thats been complained about on here, so I wouldnt really go much by what they say anyway!
  13. No it doesnt but what makes people who dont live here and who havent for years an expert on the employment situation? I am no expert either but at least I can comment on what I see, maybe there is more unemployment in different areas of Perth but the area I live in is definately not an unemployment hot spot.
  14. Its definately not grim! There seems to be a slow down on jobs just now but there are still plenty about. A lot of it is because the people who have worked on the mining projects are coming back to Perth to work as their contracts finish so there are more people looking. It was always going to happen and you know when you take a contract on in the mining industry it is only for a short time and move on, they dont need 5000 tradies working on a job when construction is finished and the place is up and running, same with every construction site, do the job and move on. Its because people have had it so good for so long it seems worse, I dont think its any worse than other states, there are so many people from the Eastern states over here doing FIFO so will be the same other places when they go back. There is more to Perth than FIFO of course but people always seem to focus on that.
  15. No chance! he hates the place. Dont know why he is still obsessed with it after all this time!
  16. You have managed to find a lot of faults in only a couple of months!
  17. That should answer your question then! If you are already pregnant you will not have worked for them for 12 months so you wont qualify.
  18. I do apologise for not checking what section it was in! cant have that
  19. How is she working if she doesnt have the visa sorted out yet?
  20. You can wait till the new term but if you decide what area you are staying in, you could enrol her for the last couple of weeks, might give her a chance to get to know a couple of little friends for playdates during the 6 week school holidays
  21. no you can only work for the employer that sponsors you unless your 457 is taken over by another sponsor.
  22. If you were only here for 3 weeks on a tourist visa I really dont think that would count as residency!
