  1. VETASSESS will be in London on 07 September - may be helpful for you both.
  2. It is not possible to get a full licence in the UK - it has to be completed in Australia. Each state has different requirements as well and you can find these online. For example, in Western Australia: https://www.commerce.wa.gov.au/publications/electricians-licence-application-overseas-otsr and other states through the TRA website here: https://www.tradesrecognitionaustralia.gov.au/programs/electrician-general-and-electrician-special-class I have attached a pdf with general information. How to obtain a full qualification - Electrical Licensing[72832].pdf
  3. I suspect it is best practice to always travel with both. Whenever I check in, I put both on the counter and let them choose. So far they have always chosen the one that I am to enter on, and I travel at least once every year. Not such an issue if you are flying direct.
  4. I have always been told to depart using the passport required for entry on arrival at your final destination, so when travelling from Australia to the UK, I use my British passport, and then depart the UK on my Australian passport. This avoids any issues with visa requirements at the final destination.
  5. Perhaps you should try contacting some reputable MARA agents in the UK. You can check their MARA registration details, as you did with the Australian ones, and as Nemesis suggested, be sure the registered agent actually owns and runs the company.
  6. I checked out the link and noticed that Western Australia was mentioned as a state sponsor, which seemed unlikely. The ANZSCO website shows that is in not. (Always worth checking ANZSCO because it is the most up to date source.) As Amber mentions, Primary Teaching jobs are not easy to come by, and there are many new graduates without jobs, particularly in WA.
  7. That seems to be an old list as it doesn't show up like that when you access it directly through the Visa Bureau website. This is what I found: http://www.visabureau.com/australia/medium-and-long-term-strategic-skills-list.aspx Otherwise, you can check it out on homeaffairs.gov.au website.
  8. If you are wanting to use an Australian Migration Agent, ISCAH have a very good reputation.

Also consider Concept Australia and Immigration2oz. Both are based in the UK and have been highly recommended over the years.
  10. Can he not apply anywhere offshore, like Bali or New Zealand? it would certainly be cheaper.
  11. Before you spend any money doing an English test or a Skill Assessment, you should speak with a couple of reputable Registered Migration Agents to determine if you are eligible, and which visa options are available to you. Many agents offer a free assessment. The skill assessment through VETASSESS involves a technical interview via Skype and then a practical assessment. Both can be done in a number a venues throughout the UK, including London, Lancashire and Scotland. All of the information can be found here - www.vetassess.com.au. If you choose to do the application yourself, you can apply directly though VETASSESS, attending any of the assessing centres throughout the UK for the technical and practical tests.
  12. There is good information about GAP Training for each state on the TRA (Trades Recognition Australia) website. http://www.tradesrecognitionaustralia.gov.au/Programs/Pages/Electricians.aspx#
  13. Yes, VETASSESS is your best option. You can contact them directly to arrange an assessment and they have a couple of test centre's in the UK.
  14. Immigration2oz, Emigration Group, Concept Australia. All registered migration agents and all have good reviews. It is really worth doing a Google search on anyone you are thinking of using. Search the name of the business and the agent, followed by 'reviews'. Many agents offer free assessments and it is a good idea to speak directly with them if you can. Get quotes and a breakdown of the services they provide for their fees. Good luck.
  15. It's a good option. Very affordable housing, a wide range of decent schools, excellent public facilities, nice beaches and the gateway to the magnificent South West. Have a look at mysouthwest.com.au and bunburymail.com.au for up to date stuff. Nearby rural towns that are gaining in popularity are Boyanup, Dardanup and Capel.
  16. You won't have any problems with Immigration2oz. John Adams has a very good reputation in the migration industry. An excellent choice.
  17. Bunbury is a very good option. As you say, a whole lot cheaper than Perth, and you get a lot more house for your dollar. It has everything you need in regards to shopping, health facilities, public and private schools, college and university, parks and sporting facilities, beaches, etc, etc. Have a look at: http://www.bunburymail.com.au/ http://www.bunburyonline.com/ http://visitbunbury.com.au/
  18. I used PSS - twice! They were very professional and thorough. No breakages at all the first time but had a couple of boxes damaged on arrival the second time. Their insurance covered everything without any problems. They came to look at what we wanted to ship, measured up and gave us a very competitive quote. We got information about customs, etc as well. Altogether a really good service. I would definitely use them again.
  19. Lots of decent Agents around, but of the three you have queried, Immigration2oz would be the preferred one. They are a reliable, solid company and often recommended.
  20. Luckily live close enough to walk, and we'll be there early for a Lo Zucchero pizza - they are amazing!
