  1. Hi Guys I am posting this question on behalf of my sister. She has a total of 70 points including the 5 nomination points for the Subclass 190 primary school teacher. She can try do Ielts exam again and try to get 8 bands each and get a total of 80 points including the nomination points. Now here is the question: I was browsing internet and landed on this page below: http://www.letsgo-global.com/migration-blog/move-australia-primary-school-teacher/ It says that Primary School Teachers are no longer in demand in Australia for Skilled Migration, So even if she gets 80 points is it gonna be a waste of money and time for her to apply for it?? Is Immigration actually not giving state nominations to primary school teacher visa applications? Is it worth applying for subclass 190 with 80 points in Primary school teacher role? Has anyone recently got nominated and invited to apply? Any information on this will be greatly appreciated, Thanks Regards Ajay
  2. Hi guys i’ve read a few threads already about this but just needed some more up to date advice as I’m feeling a little deflated. Basically, I’m a qualified primary school teacher have been for 5 years now. I have just started a masters degree in SEN which will take me a year thereabouts. I was hoping to fulfil the criteria of SEN teacher on the SOL however I’m reading lots of mixed views about certain days needed to be observed from the teacher training in a school etc I have a BAhons in English PGCE primary and just started a SEN masters degree any help will be appreciated about what steps I need to take etc im a little confused and overwhelmed by all the info :-) agent didn’t seem brilliant that I contacted today neither thanks Frankie
  3. In the early stages of researching a move to Oz, particularly Queensland, as I already have close relatives living there. I wondered if any primary school teachers could advise me on the route that they took. I am aware that Primary School Teachers are not currently on the Skills List in Queensland, therefore making the 189 and 190 visa application a no no. And I have read that a minimum of 4 years of university study is required to register in Queensland. I have studied a BA in Primary Education, which only took three years. Has anyone been in this situation? If so, what did you do? Thanks Charlotte
  4. Hello I am graduate Primary School Teacher wishing to move to Perth with my boyfriend (whom already has been granted a 190 visa). My occupation has been moved onto the CSOL as a schedule 2, which now means I cannot continue with my 190 visa application myself, I have to apply for 457 subclass (190) visa and the criteria for that is that I have a contract of employment for teaching. I have recently sen off my documents to AITSL to be skilled assessed and these can take up to 10 weeks for a decision. The reason that I am not being added as a de facto on my boyfriends visa is that we have never lived together in the 4 years that we have been together, this is for a number of reasons such as, work and university. I am currently working in Moscow as an English Governess, I have been doing this job since graduation University so that I could save up enough money to move out and start my life in Australia. Any guidance or help in regard to the visa process and more importantly, the job, I would be eternally grateful. Many thanks! Felicity

    Student visa - help please!!

Hi all, I am hoping that some of you out there can offer me some advice! I am a qualified Primary school teacher and want to make the move to Oz. I have already been on a whv so that isn't an option for me. Primary teaching isn't on the SOL, so on a whim I applied to AITSL to have my skills assessed as a Pre-Primary teacher. I got a 'not suitable' outcome because my studies didn't have a sufficient focus on the early years. What my plan is now is...... go to Australia on a student visa and do a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, to hopefully make up the the deficit in my learning on the early years and then get my skills assessed again and hopefully be able to get a skilled visa! My problem is that I have no idea if this will satisfy AITSL's requirements. They leave their requirements vague and won't give any advice on any courses that will help you meet their requirements because they don't want people doing what I'm trying to do.... Do a course to meet their requirements and then apply for a skilled visa! Does anybody have any idea if a Primary teaching qualification along with a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care would enable me to meet the requirements of Pre-Primary teaching?? Is the student visa worth a shot or should I give up the Australian dream??? All opinions and advice are greatly appreciated
  6. Am uk trained primary teacher, but am kiwi moving to Brisbane from UK. Is there much work in the way of primary teaching and how would i go about finding it?
  7. [h=2]Thanks for your time spent reading this thread. My partner and I are off to Perth 8th September 2012. I am a qualified primary school teacher who has been teaching in the UK for 2 years. We are going over to Aus on a working holiday visa. Will I be able to teach in schools in Perth and would we be able to stay permanently in the country if I am accepted for a skilled visa? My partner works in retail and does not have any of the skills on the list. Can she still stay with me I am accepted for the skilled visa? Thanks for your time. Ross and Sarah[/h]
