Cerberus1
Hi The most cost effective way would be to register with a specialist forex exchange company as you'll get better rates than transferring via a bank. There are various forex companies you could use. We (the forum) partner with Moneycorp and John from Moneycorp is a regular poster on here. If you want to drop him a PM, I'll sure he'll explain the basics to you (without any obligation). You can messge him @ http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/private.php?do=newpm&u=30772

piglet1
I send money back to Malaysia regularly to my HSBC account so I can support my parents, and only fees/charges we get is from CBA which is $22 per transfer. I get pretty okay rate, with the recent one being MYR3.23 for 1AUD.
