degree certificates certified

Can anyone help?. I am trying to find out where the best place is to get my Degree certs verified for the skills assessment.

Who is the accessing body? My skills were assessed through a CDR at Engineers Australia and I used a local solicitor to certify the all my copies of certificates, quals, passport etc

Hi

For all my docs needed for TRA, I had them certified at the Postoffice. It had to be a main postoffice, not a small sub office. There is NO CHARGE for this service. In total I had about 15 Docs done, so saved quite a bit of money.

My Skills assessment went through with no problems using the PO.

My understanding is if its a certified copy of an original it can be done in the postoffice.

If its a statutory declaration it needs to be witnessed by a solicitor.

For AITSL you can get your headteacher to certify, or any registered medical practitioner (I got my doctor sister in law to do mine), as well as the paid for options of solicitor, justice of the peace etc.

Thanks everyone for the reply. So will it be ok to get degree docs done at the post office? Also what is a statutory declaration?

A statutory Declaration is basically a sworn statement, which can only be done in front of a justice of the peace/ solicitor. I had to do this to qualify some personal information.

 

All my certificates were certified at the post office, and I had no problems with my skills assessment (TRA) or State sponsorship (WA). I can only presume it will be the same for other assessing bodies.
