Today we're on the road to Airlie beach Tonight stopping at Rockhampton/anywhere we can get cheap cos it's too hot to stay in a tent, and then friday we'll be arriving at our wwoofing position at Proserpine, half hour from airlie beach. So watch out Whitsundays here we come!!! May is a good time to come back to the UK GAL :cute: If it is anything like last spring you will still think you are in Oz weather wise. BritChickx Posted December 12, 2011 Author Share Posted December 12, 2011 so since we have been on Airlie beach we've been pool bums, but today we took an unexpected/last min trip to the Whitsunday Islands, and wow! The boat was a 6 hour trip taking us around the islands, stopping off at daydream island to pick some others up and then we had a look at Hill inlet (couldn't stop as it was too rough for the boat), BUT we did manage get into our stinger suits and get onto Whitehaven beach which was great!!! We had it all to ourselves, the guy working there said it was the first time in the 12 years he's been working there that it's been empty, the reason being it was forecast for stormy weather but we managed to miss it!
