Hi there, thanks for contact via “ poms in oz”. Well I’m an expat from Yorkshire myself, I brought my family over here in the late 80’s, probably one of the hardest decisions of my life, but also one of the best !

I have a client who is a major Toyota dealership, they have branches throughout Queensland country in the towns/cites listed below, Roma, Toowoomba, Dalby and Chinchilla. Whilst being a dealership for Toyota they service all types of vehicles, so experience required is broad but a focus on Toyota. They are looking for any mechanics with any dealership experience for reasons of quality assurance and familiarity with customer requirements and also service Managers.

ü Salary ranges from $25/hour to $30/hour dependent on experience and where the role is based.

ü A work visa (3 year) will be supplied ( #457 http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/skilled-workers/sbs/ ) and support from the client after two years for an ENS http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/skilled-workers/ens/ this should then enable you to obtain full permanent residency.

ü The visa covers you and your family and your partner has unrestricted work rights.

ü Costs – you will have to fly here (your cost), medicals and possible skill assessment to obtain an AQF cert III Australians tradesmen’s certificate .Client will pay for the visa.

ü You will be met at the airport and taken to a hotel fro a couple of days ( client pay) and will be helped to open bank accounts and set up tax accounts etc). Arrangements will have been made with real estate to set you up with a house.

I need 18 guys for these dealerships, so feel free to pass on these details. To progress complete the form’s attached, return via email. Also attach please copies of your cv and training / apprenticeship details. All is confidential and no one will be contacted in the UK at this stage. HI Gary,

I am currently in the process of a 176 skilled sponsored visa as my wife's sister's both live in the Sydney area. The application was posted end of of June this year by TrueBlue Migration Service. I am aware that an application of this type can take up to 18 months to process, but we would like to move to Australia as soon as possible.

I have an NVQ level 3 in marine engineering after completing a 4 year apprenticeship at a shipyard. I worked for a further 5 years at the same yard as a marine engineer mechanic installing propulsion trains, steering gear, engines, gearboxes and all things mechanical. After a couple of positions in between, one being a grit stone quarry where I serviced and maintained fixed and mobile plant mainly Cat loaders, swing shovels and dump-trucks for 3 years, I worked for another company as a senior commissioning engineer in the biomass boiler sector, where since January 2009, I have been self-employed. My work mainly focuses on repair and maintenance but over the years, have learnt quite a bit about the electrical side. This included control panel modifications, PLC fault diagnosis and re-programming, electrical fault finding and rectification.

As my sisters-in-law live in the NSW area, I was wondering if you could accommodate me with work in this state to get the ball rolling a bit quicker?

I would be more than happy to forward you a CV if you are interested,

many thanks,

Mike

Hi gary, my partner has 3-4 years experience on light vehicles, and has city and guilds advance vehicle maintenance and repair and various other courses which classes him as a fully qualified motor technician in the UK although he has been out of the trade for the past year due to lack of work in london. Although i my self have a AU visa he would initially be out there on a working visa for a month or two until his partner visa comes through i was just enquiring as to what work options he would be looking at if your company had any suitable positions for him. any advise or input you could give would be much appreciated. Many thanks Amy cameron.

Hi Gary,

My whole family is here in Aus and I am waiting on my ENS at the moment. My Brother on the other hand wants to get over here too and was thinking of doing his AQF III in boilermaking in QLD which is a 7 month course at TAFE. Although he would not have the experience to go with it would there be any chance your company would take him on under the 457?

Cheers

Sam

Hi Wesley, thanks for the email. sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings but to get an entry visa other then for a holiday, will require NVQ 3 or higher quals in Diesel mechanics. Even if you dont have the qualifications just years of experience you will have to provide evidence in order to have your skills assessed with a view to obtaining a qualification or being recognised by Vetassess.

Suggest you stick to your strengths - a joiner and look to get a sponsor as a carpenter.

i hope this helps..

Gary
