Singapore Airlines & Changi Airport, Singapore.

Hi snifter,

Thanks for a great and detailed reply, as always!

I will contact SA at Heathrow and see what they say. We are thinking that one of us will need to drive our luggage over there the day before the flight and either check it in or leave it in lockers overnight as there is no way we can manage 3 kids and all of our bags on public transport!

We have decided to ditch the reccie idea (we have both been before and the reccie would be too expensive) so this will be our one-way flight - fingers crossed.

As a result, we've decided not to take our UK car seats. It would've been okay for a 3-month holiday but not for any longer, so we are leaving them in the UK to use on trips home. This means no option for using them on the plane (though we will take the infant one for the baby).

We are considering these harnesses for the older kids:

Has anyone had any experience with them?

Terminal 3 is the one you'll most likely fly in and out of on SIA. However it's fairly easy to travel between the terminals on the train thing :o)

Thankyou, yes, thats what we thought...

So, I have a choice....Which terminal?

We stayed in terminal 2 last time & although the transit hotel did what it said on the tin, im wondering if any of the others are a little more up to date?

Seems nearly everyone voted Singapore Airlines as the best and, so far, we agree!

Sitting in Harrys Bar in Changi after excellent flight from LHR.

Timings and service were all impeccable. We had exit row seats upstairs on A380 and although our feet were cold, it was great to have all that space in front of us. To the left of us were the toilets for business class, but posh people and their loos were behind curtains and no problem at all!!!

Had to try a Singapore Sling in the bar and its great, poured without measures!!! Not sure I'll be able to drink the freebies on the plane:confused:

Although we are just 2 old fogies, there is so much here for every age to keep all entertained.

Everywhere seems very clean and all the staff are very helpful and not at all pushy.

So, two hours to go:biglaugh:might be three, the boarding pass in London reads 19.35, the departures board here reads 20.35:arghh:

Anyway, just wanted to post another plus, a very big plus, for both Singapore Air and their airport, Changi.

10 weeks with grandson and his mum and dad and we do it all again in reverse, but thats next year, too soon to think of it.

Cheers all, Pam

That might be something to do with the clocks changing. Check with them at the airport.

Thanks snifter we are just sitting waiting now right by the door, ready for whenever!!!

Might be too late for Cartertucker, but we checked into T3 transit hotel for a few hours sleep and it was fine! Small, but did what it said on the tin, two clean beds, an excellent shower and a telephone wake up call, in time to have a cup of tea, all in the room. Not 5* but very good and for $60 or so.........excellent!

Also could someone give a good indication on how much would we need for our 3 night stay, all we will probably do tbh is party and eat:err: we do plan on enjoying ourselves

I have closed this thread, the last few questions have not been answered. Posts are getting lost on this old thread

If you wish to ask a question please start your own thread and I am sure someone will be able to help.
