If one of your family member status shows referred then it means that your entire family medicals are under review by doctor. Everyone medicals are referred. Mine e-status changed to referred on 24 Aug, 2011l its normal nothing to worry.

It takes a month to get from one office to another. I think that all medicals go to some not too experienced guy, then if not understand , referred to a doctor who does You will get there, also if they ask you for more info, another 2/3weeks have gone by. Hang in there. helenarthur

hamilton
Hi folks, I and my wife have applied for 175 visa. Both have ACS. Developer programers Applied 06.04.2011 the rest as I post above: 21.11.2011 CO assigned 21.11.2011 CO medicals & PCC requested (on the same day) 23.11.2011 PCC sent 24.11.2011 medical sent by eHealth 25.11.2011 status changed "Further medical results referred" 29.11.2011 I got "Health requirements finalised" for me and my wife IELTS was huge pain in the ass as for every other EU country except UK or Ireland. Especially Writing We are native EU citizens and we live in 2 EU countries but neither was UK or Ireland. So for the rest EU citizens is heavy to take IELTS, especially me because along my mother language I learnt a second EU language and the English took me so much....and now is still awful. Btw, TB skin test I didn't hear any one to take. May be it depends. In EU TB have been extincted 60 years ago. I have been vaxinated twice with combined vaxine including TB. One when I was kid and when I grown up. It is mandatory for all people. Once I got pneumonia when I was young and on the X-Ray could be seen a small area of calcification dots in the left lung. However, as far as I know the TB leaves the same scars on the X-RAY. I was worried that they could take this for TB and push me into catch 22...... good luck folks
hamilton
Rakeshpatel now I saw you are from India. May be someone from India could lucid this test. Only to clarify my pneumonia was when I was in the kinder garden when I over-played with a snow and the second one was before 8 years when I was a student. So when I was young and I am still young ;-) and the scars are vivid and many doctors noted them, but I didn't meet any problem. good luck

jimithechew
Hello, Anybody who has applied for an onshore 856 visa and had their medicals referred? I am currently on 457, going to apply for 856, had my medicals with Medibank in Perth on 6 Dec. I rung Medibank today and asked the whereabouts so that I can submit the completed medicals forms alongwith all the other documentation to DIAC i.e. lodge teh application basically. Medibank said that the medicals have been sent to their 'head doctors' in Sydney (I have colitis, although well controlled on meds, I also attached a specialist report to my GP updating him on my latest situation which is obviously very good) and expect at least another 10 days delay. Do these Medibank guys make the final assessment on medicals or the assessment is done again when the application is lodged? Hi, I was reading this last night, We have our meds submitted and are now waiting for an answer, we fear it will be referred.... This makes for stressful reading!!! hopefully those affected wont get the same result as this... jejuniper TitleMember Join DateJun 2010 Posts45 Liked0 times Achieved Hi ChiltzandTig, It is really hard to say whether you would fail the health requirement or not as obviously every case is different. Some people with I.B.D. fail it and some don't, and from what I can glean it depends what severity the M.O.C. assesses you at (mild, moderate, or severe), whether you've been hospitalised recently, what meds you are on, etc. I'm an Australian citizen and my husband has ulcerative colitis. We applied for a spouse visa and it was refused based on my husband failing the health requirement. The M.O.C. assessed him with moderate I.B.D. and costed him at $100,000 over a lifetime (the magic number you need to be below is $21,000). Unfortunately the assessment from the M.O.C. does not state how they came to the $100,000 figure. It's also important to note, that that figure is based on a hypothetical person with moderate I.B.D. who will be using all possible health and community services available to them - they don't look at individual factors. In my husband's case, even though he's in remission and is active and works full time, I believe the cost estimate was high because he is on remicade, a very expensive drug, and he was hospitalised approximately a year ago for a couple of days. If you've never been hospitalised and you basically are asymptomatic, and not taking meds or taking less expensive meds then your costing will probably be much lower. I've seen others in these forums who've had I.B.D. and have passed the health requirement OK. I would suggest, when you are asked for a specialist's report, that you have the specialist emphasise that your condition is very mild, you can work, etc. Also, given that you are applying for a 457 visa which is a temporary visa, I believe you must take out private insurance and you're responsible for all health costs while in Australia, which works in your favour. Also, because it's not a permanent residency visa, your health costs won't be assessed over a lifetime which also works in your favour. Based on all these things, I'm inclined to think that you'd get through it all OK. Best of luck!

Guest Tannadice1909
Does anybody know the current processing times for medicals referred , my son and daughter have had theirs referred and looking through the posts it varies from 3 days to anything up to 6 weeks. Does it depend which visa you are applying for ours is a temporary 457 visa. Thanks in advance. Nicola
