rinkerdink
Hi, Hoping to have a CO soonish and have turned my thoughts to the medical, just wondered if anybody could enlighten me as to what they check/ test/ examine? is it just a bp and general check or do they do height, weight sight hearing etc etc Cheers
Guest JK2510
I'm afraid they do it all! Height, weight, sight, urine, blood,bp,ears, mouth and heart. They also tested reflexes. Of course the chest x rays as well! I was really worried but our doc was great and helped me relax'

Peach
I wouldn't worry, hearing loss is unlikely to cost the Australian tax payer any money (but you may need to get a specialists report). Nor is your weight unless you are beyond morbidly obese, with other health complications. Part B of this document http://www.immi.gov.au/gateways/panel_doctors/conducting_medicals/instructions/panel-doctors-instructions.pdf goes into detail about what exactly the Panel Doctors are asked to check for and how they grade the results. Hi, We had our medicals yesterday. They did not do a hearing test with any of us. They looked in our ears, eyes, throat - but no hearing test. They did an eye test for us all. They checked height, weight, heart, chest, BP and did blood test. Chest x-ray also. Think thats all. Don't know if its different in other centres? We went to Birmingham. Good luck x

Did they ask you any questions , i.e. any operations in the last 2 years, are you on any medication?

Guest smithys
Docs doing different tests then?thats interesting, thought it would be standard across the board To be honest, we fully expected to have reflexes tested but I can say they definitely didn't do any of us. So maybe yes, different docs decide which is necessary?? I can't really guess otherwise.

Guest JK2510
The reflex test they did on us was for the adults only. It was a very brief check! He also checked my joints and back as I have a history of arthritis.
