sgperry Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 [Originally posted to the job vacancies sub forum but it was blocked for some reason, so apologies for posting it here, assume its ok ..... grrrrr, having to type it again ] If anyone is looking for a job as a web developer or in online in Brisbane, please contact me. Where I work (FlightCentre) we are constantly looking for web developers (experience in html, css, javascript) and for people with solid online experience (e.g. content management, design, online marketing, etc.) You need to have a permanent visa to work in oz and the roles would be based in Brisbane CBD. Not having experience in the Australian market isn't an issue - we are happy to use UK references. cheers Sue

Or is it just html/css/javascript? And what about any database (Oracle, MS SQL, mySQL etc) skills? Web\Windows services? Cheers B!K3R

(I'm ecomm program manager, and my background is in front end rather than backend tech.) Yep, we definitely need database people, oracle and mysql in particular. Also yes, web admin skills needed, and possibly web services. If interested, please pm me and let me know when you are due to arrive in Oz. cheers Sue

I will move this in to job vacancies now.

Moderated posts for job vacancies, 3 post rules....... feels a bit like schooldays :-)

Moderated posts for job vacancies, 3 post rules....... feels a bit like schooldays :-) You will find the rules are in place to protect members, you may not care if you have spammers flooding your inbox with viagra adverts etc, but a lot of members do. Also as already explained there have been lots of false companies posting fake job advertisements to gain personal information from a members CV etc, hence why these are now vetted before being allowed on the board.
sgperry Posted December 28, 2010 Author Posted December 28, 2010 So anyway:...... If anyone is interested in work as a web developer or has good online exp and permanent visa, contact me. We have various positions at flightcentre in brisbane (where I work). This isn't spam and i won't put your name on any list - simply trying to help folks coming to bris to find genuine work Cheers sue
Guest stevewoods Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Hi all, I was wondering what the situation is here in Aus with applying for such positions whilst on a Working Holiday Visa. Are many companies willing to sponsor you to bridge the gap to a full visa if you're successful at interview? Indeed, would I even get an interview for such positions without having a full visa? Hope eveyone's having a nice Xmas season Steve
rob180 Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 visa, job , job visa, the ongoing chicken / egg scenario.
sgperry Posted December 29, 2010 Author Posted December 29, 2010 hi Steve, I'm not sure but I will ask at work next week. I suspect that if you have great skills in web dev and online - which we seem to have a shortage of in Brisbane - and are willing to work in Brisbane, we at flightcentre would certainly be open to all options. Basically if you can fill a role we are having trouble filling from the local pool, cheers Sue
rob180 Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Hi Sue. I have now sent you a PM. All the best, Rob.
