I received the following email from VIC today. It seems to indicate processing is 12 weeks from today. Has anybody received such email? It looks like it is an acknowledgment for the new skills assessment I sent to them about 2 weeks ago. The nominated occupation stated the new occupation.

Thank you for the information you sent to the Victorian Government's Skilled and Business Migration Program. The reference number is SS-2010-02XXX. The nominated occupation is XXXX.

To be eligible for sponsorship by the Victorian Government an applicant must first have an occupation on the Victorian Government Skilled – Sponsored (176) Eligibility List. The eligibility list identifies skills in demand in Victoria, and is regularly updated to take into account changes in industry requirements for skilled professionals and tradespeople. The eligibility list is an indication only of those occupations in demand in Victoria and having an occupation on this list does not guarantee sponsorship.

The application will be processed and reviewed for Victorian Government nomination. This process may take up to twelve weeks and you will be advised of the outcome as soon as a decision has been made. We request that you do not enquire on the progress of the application during this period.

The Skilled and Business Migration Program has no legal authority to deal with migration requirements or points required for migration. Any questions regarding migration beyond Victorian Government sponsorship should be directed to the Australian Government’s Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC). See the DIAC website www.immi.gov.au for more information.

Please contact us if you require further information about the Victorian Government’s Skilled and Business Migration Program.

Please quote Reference Number : SS-2010-02XXX in all of your communication to us.

Kind regards,

Skilled and Business Migration Program

Agree... but a simple acknowledgement to state that "we have recieved your Agents request form to act on behalf of you" would have not created a string of emails.

I did get a SS-2010-**** but half way through it changed... not sure what it is now.

You are right - if I was waiting I would aslo be wanting to know what the heck they were up to.

I think VIC would do themselves a big favour if they were a lot clearer on a number of fronts. If they would tell people exactly what was happening with the changing SS numbers. Second they should clarify the time line - maybe they intend to get back to people by 12 weeks but I suspect it will run the same way as last time when they said 10 weeks yet it might be any amount of time depending on the panels.

If they were clearer I think they would get less people sending emails and you might have a bit more confidence in the process. The changing numbers, having to sign declarations again does make you wonder if they are loosing things and wanting clarification.

Nop, in their old SMP under the ASCO 2231-79 they had the same list of specilisations. Now they have just pasted the same in front of BA. I haven't seen BA's with experience in C#, C++ etc. BAs are basically with a first degree in ICT & then MBA or qualification such as CIMA etc.

We do have a BA who specialises in Oracle for JDE purposes... so yes there can be technical BA's with the above skills(C#, C++)

Yes I think the email is to the guys who received a request for second declaration... so it may mean that for those who did not receive a request for second declaration, Victoria has their original declaration and these were not affected by the technical errors.

Hi fellows,

I've sent two mails to VIC to two different addresses. I wanted them to add an updated employer-reference to my application, however, they did not reply at all. So I still don't know if this file has been attached or not.

It would just be a lot nicer if they would communicate just a little bit. Now that even the tracking system is gone we're completely lost in the dark.

Hi uli,

I do not think that they response you promptly . In fact I also sent my ACS Assessment letter(at the time of applying I do not have that) by email yet no acknowledgment .:elvis:
