I totally agree with your comment lexbunde. I imagine us answering, at our job interviews there in Australia, when asked about what we have done during the last year, something like this:

Well, I've struggled every single day to get here, how could I probably be doing anything else? I have a master degree in checking and filtering accurate and up to date messages from the PomsInOz forum, for example. Also, I've developed an application that automatically checks the tracking option of Victoria's, ACS and DIAC websites which sends me notifications when something changes. Did I forget to mention that I know all the current immigration legislation, better than any migration agent out there? Give me your age and IELTS score and I'll tell you which visa is better for you! So, please, give me the damn job!!

Let's think about some matters:

1) According to Lexbunde post, one person granted VIC SS today. He/She had Network Security specialization in file. Also He/She completed application on 4 Nov. It means ICT industry panel has met at least 1 time since 4 Nov.

2) Some people have got "ADDITIONAL declaration needed" email from VIC since 10 days ago.

My question: Why they asked some people to send declaration again WHEN at least 1 ICT industry panel has met in Melbourne and they got decision about some people? It seems they are sending mentioned email to people who were successful in ICT industry panel.

You can see SS granted person has received "ADDITIONAL declaration needed" email too.

What do you think?

Hi

We submitted the VIC SMP application on 5th Nov after 5 attempts as the site was not working properly. The ACS code under which we have submitted the application is 2231-79 (network security). The application status was received and case Id was assigned the same day.

On Monday(29 Nov) we got the email asking for the declaration. We sent that and now tomorrow(30 Nov), we got three emails from do.not.reply id that our application is incomplete and we should complete that.

Any suggestions on this...is that the application for which case Id has been assigned?

Thanks

Yeah, this could be true. But you are forgetting the Industry panel. Vic don't review cases individually. They review cases in a bunch (one bunch in one panel). At least one panel has met already. One theory could be that the panel met for a specific specialization (in this case network security). If there were a considerable number of applicants with specialization in network security, then this could be true. I think ordering by experience would just mean more work for Victorian staff without much gain. In the end the panel recommends which ones make it and which don't. So, the panel has to go through each CV anyway. What would be the point of pre-ordering the CVs in this case?

Correct but what if they first categories into ANZSCOs and then arrange them according to experience order until quota for each code is met.In fact I'm hoping & praying this will never happen !

In other case, assuming they had a general ICT panel, in my opinion it doesn't make sense to present the panel with only the applications that have many years of experience. It would be more efficient to present the panel with all ICT applications received until a certain date. This way they can process a large number of applications in one go. Some get in some don't, it's not Victoria's problem. This is specially true where it may take a while to have another ICT panel meeting.

I think different panels might be meeting for different specialisations! Network geeks cannot evaluate programming people as I see.

I have realized that applying for Permanent Residence in Oz makes someone a blog junkie. You are always checking some blog or checking some government or state website for news or for any change to your status...first it was checking the Australia Computer Society site daily for status, then checking the IELTS site for results, then now checking the Victoria Site site for status or waiting for the decision email, and then if you are successfull with Victoria, you start checking the DIAC site for status of your 176 application. At the end of this all we will be experts in blogs and applications and hopefully we will have learnt a great deal of patience coz this whole process forces us to learn patience... I really cannot wait for life after this process.... just imagine it...no checking of status daily or waiting for some email or praying that rules dont change once again. I wish the best for all of us and hopefully we are all granted sponsorship....come on Victoria, you can do it!!

So sweet of you :wubclub: wish you the same mate!

Hi Uli,

Its better if you could update the front page for "further docs requested" with this additional declaration request status for each of us. specially mention whether they asked for the "additional" one or just asked to resend it.

Tx

Hi,

After e mailing skilled@liveinvictoria.vic.gov.au to ask what happened to my application. It having apparantly disappeared off the system, I received the e mail asking me to re submit my declaration which I promply did today. They requested that I quote the same reference number SS-2010-23XX in all my future correspondence.

I still cannot access the website as it does not recognise my log in details since the website went down so I don't know if there have been any other changes ??? :rolleyes:They did manage to send me a few more incomplete application notifications so I know they have my e mail address.

I have mentioned this in my return e mail to them and have also sent an enquiry to their website feedback form for the attention of the I.T department.

Not sure what has happened there ? Hope they don't think I'm pestering them but I need to know.:wacko:

I hope you have a better day tomorrow. Maybe a grant email from Vic ... wouldn't that be wonderful?

For the update on the first page, I received the additional declaration email. However, this may not be significant. My theory is they had the additional declaration email as the standard (can be confirmed by people who received this email earlier around a week back). When a lot of people asked whether they needed to send a hard copy and whether this declaration was new they changed the wording to "The assessment process requires you to complete a sponsorship declaration..." and added the part about not needing a hard copy. This email (second version) suggests that they do not have our initial declaration (thus confirming my initial theory about glitches in their system). The second version probably started 2-3 days ago.

I have read some of the older posts from the guy in the other forum who recieved Victoria SS yesterday. From what I see, even though he applied for SS on the 4th of November when the new SMP was released, he had also previously applied to Victoria in July just before the Skills Sponsorship applications were suspended. I know in the past few weeks since the release of the SMP, most or all of the people who had applied for Victoria before the applications were suspended, received their SS Grant. So in my opinion it may be possible he got the SS based on his earlier application before Victoria SS was suspended. I sent a few of you the link to that forum so you can also read his previous posts and see what conclusion you come to... but if that is the case , then we cannot consider him a new VIC SS Applicant and start panicking coz most of us have not heard anything yet... I still think it may be a few more weeks before Victoria gives the geenuinely new Vic SS Applicants a decision regaridng sponsorship. As we know, there has been a change in government in Victoria, and chances are high that the new government will want to have its say in all aspects including Skilled Migration in Victoria and maybe even put some of its own choice of people in the Industry Panels..if that is the case, then the industry panels would be reconstituted and this would take a bit of time ...remember it was previously a labour government and with the rivalry between labour and the Coalition, the new coalition government wouldnt want to continue with a panel that was purely selected by a labour government and it would obviusly want to choose new members of the panel. Maybe this is the reason why they changed the time frame for waiting for a decision from 8 weeks to 12 weeks. OK but this is just my opinion, I have no idea how the panels are selected or whether they are changed by the incoming government. I will send a message to Allan Collett or George Lombard as they are experienced in this and may give us an idea on this.

Also I read in another forum about someone who applied for VIC SS on May and received SS granted letter 10 Nov.

His application was removed from tracking section on July - he said - and there was no email response from VIC. After a few months, VIC asked for his ACS assessment letter on 8 Nov. He sent same day and got granted letter on 10 Nov.

Good morning ladies,

I've just finished "pimp my thread". I've done a little clean-up and removed all the "N/A" and "not yet". I thought it's more readable that way.

Furthermore "Tataaaaa !!" we've got a COLORCODE now. :gingerbreadhouse:

This is what it looks like:

VIC Sponsorship applied = Green

VIC Sponsorship approved = Blue

VIC Sponsorship rejected = Brown like poooooo

comments = Red

I've also added the "case ID changed" and "declaration requested" infos to the first page. Please check your details yourself and let me know if something is missing or wrong.

That's the latest news.

Cheerio

I love your pimping of the first page!!

It is going to look so much better when some people change from Green to Blue.:jiggy:

The red comments stand out well.

Lovely colour coding - hope you don't get to use the brown.

some guy sent back declaration, and asked VIC, which id should he use, VIC's answer is old id 022xx, not the new id 036xx。

Dear ,

Thank you for your email. The correct reference number is SS-2010-022XX.

As stated on our website, due to technical issues, the 'Tracking' function has been removed. You will be contacted via email about the status of your application when necessary.

The current processing time for Victorian sponsorship is approximately twelve weeks upon receipt of a complete application.
