Pharmacists and Computer Professionals (NEC) With Case Officer

Just wanted to know if there are any pharmacists or computer professionals (NEC) out there who have applied, haven't had their application finalised yet and have a case officer allocated. The above two occupations seem to be the ones that were on the CSL, but are now not on the new SOL; the recently-released priority processing details state:

"Applicants with a nominated occupation of Computing Professional (nec), Hospital Pharmacist and Retail Pharmacist, who have already been allocated a case officer, will be contacted directly by their case officer to advise processing arrangements."

We have not received any contact from our CO, but were wondering if anyone else has, and if so what was the response and secondly has anyone actually contacted a CO themselves in this regard and, if so, what response did they get ?

Many thanks

I'm computer professionals (NEC) and applied on 13.10.2008. So there will be 2 years soon :)

I have a CO (actually a second one) and I called DIAC a couple days ago. They told me that my case still in process and !!! recent changes will not affect my case. This surprised me a bit but I did not try to get more information.

The problem is that my case is still under external/internal checks and CO will contact me only when they will be finished or they will need more information in relation to these checks.

I guess there are not much people who fall into these rule exception, so lets keep in touch. I'll put this page into bookmarks and be checking it from time to time.

If you have any update, post it here please.

And you can call DIAC to get more information.

Hi, I'm also a computing professional - NEC (Java & J2EE Specialist). I lodged my application on 16.03.2010 and a case officer was assigned in 31.05.2010 and requested PCC and Medicals. As my wife was pregnant, i couldn't get my wife's medicals done and the delivery is due in mid august. So before the July 1st changes, i have informed them the situation and they said it's fine to submit medicals after baby is born. As new priority processing introduced on 19th July i was bit anxious about the impact on my application. So i sent an e-mail to my CO and she replied that my application will continue to process once the required medicals were done. So i'm quite re leaved after the response. :)

Hey Roundomus, we're also 2231-79 (Oracle) and got a Case Officer at the end of June. We were asked to go for medicals which we did on July 6th. These were lodged with DIAC on the 14th and all finalised on th 16th July. Following the changes we've been waiting for contact from our CO - our Agent emailed the Case Officer to ask about the changes and got a pretty vague response. On the positive side the response wasnt negative and our Agent sounds hopeful that we'll continue to be processed. If we get anything back from DIAC I will of course post here. Cheers, Gerry

Hi guys, I'm On the same boat:

Computing Professional - specialising in C++

CO requested Medicals + PCC :07/07/2010

Attended medicals (In Aus): 09/07/2010

AFP PCC submitted 19/07/2010

CO informed that OS PCCs are ready: 23/07/2010

Haven't heard anything since.

Nothing has been updated on my online application status other than ABPF on 29/06/2010

All document still show as "Required" although they all have been submitted now.

Now ... waiting to see what happens and when.

Will keep you guys updated if I hear anything.

Thanks for this thread.

Seems like we must be the only pharmacy-based applicants referred to in the directive guidance. Our CO hasn't said anything much other than it is still under routine processing and no indication of time given - no reference to the directive at all.

Anyone have any updates to add to this string? Any contact from CO or any e-mails to DIAC been answered?

Hi Neil...still nothing yet from DIAC...I'll give it another month or so then put my Oz plans into hibernation if no information comes out of DIAC (I cant stand the compulsion to check my email every morning followed by a quick status check on the e-visa site - it's like looking up your lottery results with that faint optimistic hope followed by a quick "oh well...maybe next time". Its almost comical  ) . In the meantime, if i hear anything I'll definitely come back to this thread and create an update.

Cheers,

Gerry

You are right neilharrison_253, apparently there have been two IT grants today.

Just like you guys, I am waiting and checking every day.

Hope it indicates a trend and not a fluke.

Hello people!

I am a pharmacist. I applied for a 176 in January, got a case officer a month later and was requested to submit a Form 80 within the same month (February). Since then, my e-visa status has seen no activity. Following the amendments on 19th July to priority processing i was compelled to contact my CO to find out whats gonna happen to my application.

I got a reply within a day, from a different team, apparently I have been assigned a new CO who stated that she is gonna be reviewing my application within the next 2 weeks. Two weeks are almost over and I am trying not to peg all my hopes on anything positive. Giving it another month before I go emailing her again.

I will keep you guys posted should DIAC contact me.

All the best guys.

It's rather strange that the guidance states that the COs will contact us, yet none appear to have done so without being prompted - even a standard email would have been something. If you don't mind me asking, where are you applying from and how did you go in the IELTS ? I have a theory, I suspect that where you apply from/got your work experience, what you got in your IELTS and how many years experience you have might have something to do with how they treat the application; if true, that's not a particularly equitable approach, IMHO - all should be treated the same.

Alternatively, the new CO might just be reviewing the file to see what else needs to be done before giving you any definitive answer as to how much longer it may take.

Your theory might be true. I did fairly well in the IELTS, garnering an 8.0. I had two years working experience at the time of application and I come from a High risk country (according to DIAC classification)... i.e. Kenya.

I thought prior to sending in my application, the process would be pretty much straight forward seeing that I have minimal baggage needing thorough scrutiny... but it seems like there is more to it than what meets the eye. Perhaps the so called external checks have never being finalized... Interestingly though, the Hospital administrator where I work told me she did receive a phone call from these people, asking general questions about my working experience. But that was many many months ago.

Guess we just have to wait in limbo till this mess in visa processing is completely sorted out.

Thanks for the update mate! At least you know there's some activity there...

Do you know if you're meant to get any confirmation that the CO has received the PCC + Medicals?

I've sent it all and I don't even know if they got it !

Hi dtroy

When you log in and check your document check list it should say next to the medicals requested or met. I will admit that mine does not reflect my PCC's so not sure about them but considering all docs are in the same upload folder i would feel confident that they have them.

Thanks neilharrison_253!

ALL my documents still show as required and medicals outstanding.

The process for getting my PCCs is a bit trickier. The police sends it to the local Australian embassy. The CO then has to send a request to the Australian embassy to forward the PCC to them. I've got no idea if they've done it or not. All I know is that the police did send it to the embassy and that I've informed the CO.

Hi dtroy

I pressume then you are from a High Risk country? Im from South Africa myself but have not had to do it that way. Mine has been done all electronically so when i get a document i simply scan it in and upload it to there website. I pressume then you are not online with you application. Try login to the following link with your TRN number and see what happens
