hi. I have been sponsored for a 457 by the University of Queensland. I Thought the 457 visa applic was a bit tricky - esp getting all the attachments in order - the Sydney immig authority processed the application very quickly (for myself and family). We applied on 2nd Sept 2010 and had approval on 14 Sept 2010. Really looking forward to our time in Australia! cheers, Tim

valid file types for attaching documents are BMP, DOC, DOT, GIF, JPG, PDF,

Hi every1,

Hope you are fine and doing well. Also I have an inquiry about the situation of my application with the SMPs' as below:

My application has lodged on 17-Sep-2008 as a System Manager ASCO 2231-11 (System Administrator ANZSCO 262113) under subclass 475 for Victoria territory & I have been sponsored by my sister because of the requirements was 6 for each module and I got at that time overall 6 (L 6.5, R 5.5, W 5.5, and S 6.5).

As far as I’m concerned my profession is not on Victoria’s SMP, at the same time as I heard from friends of mine that the new privilege of the "SMP" that has been given to all to choose another state on condition of existence code and different IELTS requirements (7 and above).

For the time being 262113 appeared on ACT on condition that applicant under subclass 176 in addition of 7 each for IELTS. Also, NT has got 262113 on their SMP's occupation list and subclass 475 is sponsored by them on condition of overall 7 and in speaking 7 is must.

I’m also waiting for the other territories SMP; my enquiry is whether I’m eligible to apply for another State? So, I can re-take the IELTS exam to shorten the way to have my visa since I’m on category 4 and I have been waiting for more than 2 years and no one knows till when I can get it.

Many thanks in advance for your response and I appreciate your advice if you guide my to the right track.:notworthy:

It has your answer on SMP FAQS

You cant change states because you are family sponsored. Maybe you have to submit another application if you want to be included on SMP read below or click on link!!

Applications for provisional visas

The Migration Regulations have never permitted applicants who applied for a Skilled Sponsored (Regional) visa (subclasses 475 or 487) on the basis of family sponsorship to change their application to a state or territory nominated application and this has not changed.

Hi folks

Just an update,

Changes for applicants for subclass 475 and 487 – 17 December 2010

Applicants for subclass 475 and 487 visas who applied between 1 July 2010 and 1 January 2011, and whose visa was granted in this same period, are not subject to conditions 8539 or 8549 which require the applicant to live and work in specified regional areas. This affects the ability of applicants granted visas in these circumstances to subsequently apply for a Subclass 887 visa.

Changes will take effect on 1 January 2011 which enable applicants in this position to apply for the Subclass 887 visa, provided they meet the requirements of living and working in a specified regional area.
