fluffy
after being messed about by a few companies im looking at applying for the 457 visa as a marketing specialist I have the 3 years behind me that are needed and I have already lived in Australia for 1 year. I just wondered if any1 knew how long visas were taking for those people who are not sponsored by work or states. As I am just on the SOL list. just a rough guide. Also if they are still processing these visas. Cheers :wubclub:

The last marketing specialist 457 we handled took 6 days from the date of application to visa grant. If you look around you will very likely find a registered migration agent to advise you about your visa prospects.

Les Mighalls
In order to provide worthwhile advice, as you are in Australia at the moment, which visa are you currently on? And when is it due to expire?
fluffy
My O/H was sponsored by his work in mel but was made redundant then we were sponsored by his new work and moved to brisbane but now has been made redundant again so we have moved onto working holiday visas, in order to stay here and look for other work to sponsor us but now we are thinking that it might be easier to apply for a 175 visa as we wont have to worry about being made redundant again and being sent back to the Uk. Thanx in advance for any help. Fluffy

You see the 175 route is taking forever at the moment as they arent even being looked at this financial year unless the occupation is on the CSL so its highly unlikely that you would get it on time. Could you see if the skills are on a state sponsered list as these are being done quicker. Good luck hope someone helps soon!
