Ive made a few great friends but am looking to meet a few more people like me who enjoy shopping, cinema, girly nights, drinking, dancing and socialising! When you have a group of friends who you leave to go to the other side of the world it can obviously be hard and id like to meet some like minded people....im sure theres plenty out there! Im also available to offer advise to anyone coming over here so let me know if you have any queries on renting, furniture hire, areas, work etc etc and ill be happy to help. After the wash out last month we will try again for a meet up at Cardinia Park just outside Berwick on Saturday 17th January. The park is off Wellington Road. Once you turn into the park follow the signs for Crystal Brook Picnic Area. There are BBQS, toilets & kids play area at this part of the park. No bins provided so bring a bag to take home your rubbish. I will get there around Midday & pin up an Aussie flag around the Gazebo so everyone knows where to come. Look forward to seeing old & new faces. Also if you join Britvics there are people who live around about you. We're currently staying in Cremorne with some kiwi friends, and looking for jobs and work asap. Melbourne seems great, but it would be cool to catch up with someone who knows the area a bit. Would be grand to meet up for some beers sometime. Also, where abouts in Nottingham are you from? I also hail from the mighty city of robin hood (and gun crime). I have this big fear, Im not sure how we are going to meet people. hubby and i cant go out in the eve as a couple as we have our son to consider and as we havent got anyone else here, id feel completely crap if only I went out and left hubby holding the baby so to speak. Also some couples dont want a little kid around them cramping their style (totally understandable). We arent that greater package really:swoon: LOL Anyone else in the same boat ?? That could be a way to meet others in the same situation with kids in tow so you would all be in the same boat. Also not everyone minds kids being around (usually gives adults an excuse to behave like 4 year olds again!). Just get yourself out and about or invite the entire street for a barbie (unless you live at no. 300 of 500!!). I am sure that someone on the forum will offer a cup of coffee....you could come to mine but I am still 12,000 miles away. Take care and good luck with making new friends. I am currently really just a dogs body, half assisting with the nurse role when a crisis breaks out, and half covering the PPO! It could be worse though, no stress or bother and I think everyone is very understanding that I am about to leave in 7 weeks!! Just counting down now til xmas!!!!! Moving down on my own and would definitely be interested in meeting up with people on here while I'm there. Will be working in CBD so will probably be living somewhere within a 30 min tram to work.
