  5. I would go out to diamond creek, greensborough way. Nice enough places to live. Not sure if it'll meet all your expectations though.
  6. http://www.monashhealth.org/page/Careers/ Try this
  7. Monash health have just advertised for a Nurse Unit Manager full time Perm and a 6month full time temp. I'm just about to readvertise for 1FT and 1PT RMN next week for Monash medical centre-adult acute inpatient.. With all above jobs I'd be happy to discuss them(I've been the NUM on both wards and I'm the advertising manager). - sign up and apply on line www.monashhealth.org.au. then go to careers- current vacancies Kelly.
  8. At any time of the morning from 6am, city bound, is busy on the monash and as of 3 pm berwick bound. I would highly suggest use of train if not too unconvienient. Also suggest the princes as an alternative. I live in cranbourne east and used to work in richmond. If i left home at 6 am i would just get there for 7am start. Sometimes it could take up to 11/2 hrs to get home. i now work in clayton and use the princes, its actually a bit quicker than expected. As for living down this way, its a great place. An hour to the city, half hour to the coast and half an hour to the mountains.
  9. Your entitled to your opinion, but thats really not helpful. As far as the PR process (as in the 856), it doesnt take that long. I know many people having gone through the process within a month. Mine took 2 weeks. Have you thought of state sponsership? And have you contacted immigration yet?
  10. Sorry, didnt read yourbpost properly, i see what you both do now
  11. Not sure if im right here, but your return to the uk, if it should ever came to that, would have to be at the expense of the company as part of the 457. So they could either pay the $600 fee for PR or pay out $$$$$ to return you home. You might want to contact immigration to find out where you stand. Im sorry or your siuation. We came out on a 457 but quickly got PR simply by me throwing my dummy out the cot. The job I got wasnt reflective if what i was interviewed for and hubby couldnt get work. PR did inprove our situation so i urge u to push for that. What does hubby do? Is there chance of a different sponser?
  12. My son goes to berwick fields holiday clubs. The school itself is much like his in cranbourne east. Class sizes of about 20.i hear from berwick friends that its a nice school. they do a lot of shared learning spaces here, dont be put off by it. School is slightly different here than the uk. The teachers not only teach them what they need to learn but also how to socialise, hold conversation and grow in confidence.
  13. NIce area but id say far to far away for a commute to the city. 1 1/2 hours each way........
  14. Hope you have a good day. We cant make it unfortunately, but will look out for future dates. Kelly
  15. U daft mare. Hehehe....your winding yourself up about nothing.....Youll only see little ones, the big ones are rarely seen and if you do theyll be outside. Stop stressing and get some sleep!
  16. I work in berwick and live close by in cranbourne east. It sits about 45 mins SE of the city and it in a massive growth corridor. Mornington would be more of an hour or so. If you are going to work down this end the id go for the penninsular to live. melbourne is something different, not like a uk city. Its got plenty of green spaces. You might like it and chose to go for city life! sheppardton is 4 hours north of melb.....not commutable! Lol
  17. They dont expect too much from my understanding. Just a professional format that shows your work history and quals. Here is a format ive used many times while in Aus. Its never been rejected. name address phone num email Statement who you are Professionl bodies inc membership numbers Education with uni first Additional quals Work history - name of employer. Start date- finish date Role held- Responsbilities- achievements- References
  18. My advice....buy a brand new bike and then ship it out here, itll still be cheaper than buying a new bike here. Bikes are stupid prices here in melbourne and in all seriousness, this isnt a bike friendly place. Defensive riding has a new meaning in melbourne. Both hubby and i had full uk bike licence and we just converted it onto our vic licence. You have to make sure at the vic roads place they have included you as a rider driver, otherwise your not getting on 2 wheels. Bikes are a passion of mine, but i have to say, one too many close calls have put me off. Ive not ridden my bike in over a year, its just sat in the garage taking up room. Good luck !
  19. Sleep is the key to looking after ourselves in my opinion. Im just wondering how many of those who sleep few hours also suffer with low mood or weight problems. Theres a strong correlation between lack of sleep and both the above. -weight issues due to the body seeking fuel to keep it awake and operational and too tired to do any effective exercise. -low mood due to excessive tiredness and exhaustion, coupled with increased stress. Leads to poor interaction with people, isolation due to no energy to do social activities....... The more i have on at work the less sleep i have, brain works overtime and i find myself thinking of stupid things at 130 am which lead to me not being able to get back to sleep. last year i decided to sort my weight out, made sure i went to bed when i felt tired and to make sure i could sleep well. Commited to exercise at least 5 times a week. I had so much energy and felt amazing and had a great night sleep. Ive noticed a massive change in me in the past 4 months. New job, increased stress, lack of sleep and no energy to exercise...........think i need to sort it out!!!
  20. Ive not seen any. Might be worth calling our local city council and asking??
  21. My boss walked into the meeting room the other day where i was sat. He exclaimed loudly so all got chance to stop and look around "whats up with you kelly, you look like a convicted prisoner"? Hes also often tells me "i think its time to go home and take time out" when hes not understood what ive said......... Its quite clear to me hes a d$ickhead....its his problem. It feeds his ego.....he obviously has a small one. I agree with the others, its clear bullying behaviour. Its ongoing and makes you feel unhappy. Id take advice from the company hr team. But you must keep a diary for evidence. Hugs.x

    Moving to Melbourne

If your not keen on travel then youll have seek places in east melbourne/carlton/collingwood. However itll be expensive( and thats just childcare!!!) my advice would be get a little car. Or use train and tram and move out to places like ivanhoe, heidleburg, rosanna. Its only about 20 mins drive and far better for families and youll have more house for your money. You do need to see a place before you rent, however if you have someone out here who can do that for you, that also works. Youll just have to provide them with all your docs to submit with the house apps.
