Blood tests for children

Hi! We are new to this forum and are in the process of starting the long journey of visa application. We are Steve(38), Wendy (40), Hollie (15), and Lauren (13), hoping to go to Melbourne in July 08. My oldest daughter, Hollie is already getting herself wound up about the fact that she might have to have a blood test as part of her medical. I am not sure if children have to do this or is it just adults. Any help would be appreciated as she has said that she is not going if they are going to stick her!!! :cry:

Hiya im sure blood tests are only for over 16 yrs you could try ringing the clinic you will use and ask them ,the medical really was nothing to worry about ,the most intimate mine got was a prod of the tummy ! hope this helps

Hi Steve,

 

I've sure that it's blood tests for under 16 and over - unless she's got tatoos!! The girls will need chest x-rays though as that's from age 11, which will add to the cost a little for your family.
