Medical refusal 186 (akrolosing spondylitus

Hi everyone

my visa has been declined on medical grounds, I have ankylosing spondylitus, (type of arthritis) and I am currently going through the medical waiver process. Was wondering what the chances where of getting my visa granted now at this stage? The visa was refused on medical costs but my circumstances have changed and I have been off my medication for 8 months. I have a very active job and go to the gym regularly, so the condition is manageable and doesn’t effect my day to day life. Was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and what there outcome was? I’ve herd a lot off people recommending George Lombard, what was ur experience like with him and does anyone have any rough costs?

Any help would be much appreciated

thanks

Perhaps the cost they are factoring in is the medicine ( tablets) that cost around 30K a year.

Mine was diagnosed in my mid 60's,so late in life.No real problem just stiffness

The specialist I have to see once a year tells me to do a test to see if I qualify for the 30K tablets.I just say that I have no pain, movement is restricted a bit but otherwise fine, why try to get those tablets.I am quite happy as it is,no pain whatsoever. The tablets don't reverse the calcification so I think they are just super duper anti inflammatories for pain that is not there.

Can't help with the visa bit but that is probably the cost they are looking at

Keep up with the gym etc as that really slows it down.

As I am retired I have all the time in the world for exercise. If I didn't have A S I would feel 18 again.

Good luck

That's exactly what they do.  They consider the likely cost of medication and treatment over the remaining lifetime of the applicant.   There's a threshold, and if it's over that threshold, the visa will be declined.

Hi mate, sorry to hear about your medical. I also have a pre existing condition so it is causing me a bit of anxiety.

I’d like to ask you whether your medicals got “referred”? And if so how much extra time did that take after they were referred?

thanks

Same here, kindly share what status of health assessment would be if there is any issue with the exam result? Really Appreciate some health status advice in immi online account if there is any issue. How is it going with health waiver?
