SUPERSTARDJ01
Hi, Are 489 visa holders (main holder) allowed to work on a casual contract in their sponsored field? And if so does it coubt towards their visa requirements for a PR visa? Cheers
VERYSTORMY
Yes, nor do you have to work in your normal occupation. You can do anything as long as it meets the regional element of the visa condition.
rammygirl
Do check the hours, not sure if it needs to be classed as full time work though.

rammygirl
Ok so here is the page on the gov website. There is a difference in the specified area dependant on your type of sponsorship (state or family) https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/trav/visa-1/887-?modal=/visas/supporting/Pages/887/eligibility-living-requirement.aspx you can do any work but it should be full time and in the designated area. You must be able to prove this with pay slips etc.
wrussell
At least 12 months full time, paid work experience in any occupation is needed. It does not have to be continuous or for the same employer.
