Tony John
Hi regardless of the recent visa changes, is it still possible to gain sponsorship from companies, seeking experienced workers that are a struggle to find in Australia, or, is it possible to apply/obtain on an individual basis, in order to gain “working rights” enabling someone to apply and secure work, preferably on a fifo, long roster....from an overseas location
sparkymalarky
whats your occupation tony ? its pretty tough out there even if your experienced in that industry. although its picked up in the last few months. when you say long roster how long ? 4/1 ?. many companies no longer do these huge rosters due to the stress it causes on marriages and mental health etc but construction roles still seem to be 4/1. as for sponsorship from overseas its a massive longshot and id say you've no chance unless it was an overseas transfer or extremely specialised. have you looked at any skilled visas or eligibility for one

VERYSTORMY
Have you looked at skilled migration? This would would open up many more opportunities as the new 457 rules make it much more difficult and expensive to sponsor. Also, a 457 has a lot of issues not least that it is a temp visa.
