AuzzEh
is there difference between HR and LR?which countries are considered HR? Good question, I looked this up myself yesterday. Basically if you're from a Low-Risk Country, you are eligible to apply for an Electronic Travel Authority Visa (Tourist Visa which allows you to stay for up to one year for three months at a time or for business visitor purposes). People coming from HR countries cannot apply for this type of visa. When processing PR visas, applications from LR countries are sometimes processed faster because of the reciprocal Electronic Authority attached to these countries' passports (easier to track information digitally, therefore the processing time can be quicker). However, right now on the Immi website under "Processing Times" for 187 or 186 visas, they do not differentiate between LR and HR countries for processing times (sometimes they do though, so keep checking back!). Low Risk Countries are the following: Andorra Austria Belgium Brunei Canada Denmark Finland France Germany Greece Hong Kong (SAR of China) Iceland Ireland Italy Japan Liechtenstein Luxembourg Malaysia Malta Monaco Norway Portugal Republic of San Marino Singapore South Korea Spain Sweden Switzerland Taiwan* The Netherlands United Kingdom—British Citizen United Kingdom—British National (Overseas) United States Vatican City High Risk countries are all the countries not on this list. Sources: https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-1/601- https://www.border.gov.au/about/access-accountability/service-standards/skilled-migration-visa-processing-times Hope this helps! Good luck everyone!
