  1. Thanks so much. No, my MA told me not to and only do it if they ask, which they didn't. He said I could proactively fill one out just in case, but it was too much of hassle!
  2. Hey everyone! I got my PR on Saturday, very very exciting for me! No docs asked, nothing further requested. Exactly 6 months and 10 days wait. My MA did a great job. Hang in there, stay positive and it will come! Cheers to a new and wonderful life!
  3. 6 months, 7 days today! I'm getting so anxious! looks like some Julys have been processed so good luck everyone whose time is coming up! May we all get these visas quickly and with little hassle! Also, can someone please post the link to the google.doc? Thanks! :angel_happy_face_ha
  4. Hi can someone please add me to the timeline and also tell me how I can see the timeline? Please and thank you!
  5. Good day to everyone....has anyone waiting more than 5 days for the acknowledgement from Immi that the visa application has been received? I'm very anxious to know why it's taking so long for them to give me a receipt/conformation that it has been lodged...anyone else??
  6. Thank you Nasir! I'm just so impatient to get the ball rolling over here...imagine me waiting the 6+ months to have it processed!
  7. Hi everyone! first of all I'm so grateful for this blog, it's so helpful and everyone is so supportive. My MA lodged my nomination and visa application together on Monday. The acknowledgement from Immi came through for the nomination only. I have not heard ANYTHING re: acknowledgement of visa application (I heard that you get the bridging visa and Medicare letter within hours). It's now been 4 days! My MA says there is a backlog in the system, but I can't check myself. Is this something that's happened to anyone before? I need my Medicare Card ASAP! Thanks!
  8. Good question, I looked this up myself yesterday. Basically if you're from a Low-Risk Country, you are eligible to apply for an Electronic Travel Authority Visa (Tourist Visa which allows you to stay for up to one year for three months at a time or for business visitor purposes). People coming from HR countries cannot apply for this type of visa. When processing PR visas, applications from LR countries are sometimes processed faster because of the reciprocal Electronic Authority attached to these countries' passports (easier to track information digitally, therefore the processing time can be quicker). However, right now on the Immi website under "Processing Times" for 187 or 186 visas, they do not differentiate between LR and HR countries for processing times (sometimes they do though, so keep checking back!). Low Risk Countries are the following: Andorra Austria Belgium Brunei Canada Denmark Finland France Germany Greece Hong Kong (SAR of China) Iceland Ireland Italy Japan Liechtenstein Luxembourg Malaysia Malta Monaco Norway Portugal Republic of San Marino Singapore South Korea Spain Sweden Switzerland Taiwan* The Netherlands United Kingdom—British Citizen United Kingdom—British National (Overseas) United States Vatican City High Risk countries are all the countries not on this list. Good luck everyone!
  9. Hi!! I'm very new to this forum but I've been living in and out of Oz for over three years from Vancouver, Canada...various tourist visas, application for 189 refused, bridging visas, running around to Fiji and NZ and back home to stay on top of it! Now I'm on a 457 visa in Sydney about to apply for 186 (and on top of that I did the WHV 15 years ago, so I've been here a whole wack of times)....soooo insane! Why do we love it here so much?? Anyway, I'm hoping to chat to some other crazy Canucks and see if anyone has gone through similar experiences. Nice to know we're not alone in this. Lots of strength and power to those making the big move!!
