Ahad, your situation is similar to mine, my MA says to wait as well. I know it's a bit frustrating but not sure if there is a better approach to get some visibility on why some applications are delayed. Overall the impression is some centres or teams are currently facing a huge backlog hence the delay

Nom+visa on 20th Aug, Nom approval on 25th Feb, no doc request and awaiting visa

@Goan you are waiting for so long . What MA is saying any reason for so much gap.

Its very strange. But I think they might have missed any document

There has been no request so far so I assume my application is yet to be assigned to a CO

Is the office visit quite normal for immi? Does the immi want to check if the person is genuinely working in that company? I also heard that they would give the company a anonymous call before giving the nomination, is that true?

Dude in my case , they just asked random question to contact person who was mention in form80 and other form , he is my senior manager and they went away I was not in the office coz I have to mostly on the sites .

@aussiepr contact immi it has been more than 6 months. I just spoke to MA but he said they haven't got any information request or the decision so just waiting. I am a bit confused why they haven't given any decision yet I applied both together.

I have been calling him since monday. He sent me a msg today after that he is not in sydney. ?

Btw can MA really do something ?

nom and visa 07/09/15

From my experience MAs are very reluctant to contact immi. Not saying that they have 0 power to influence immi timelines.

I have been working in the Migration industry since my early days in Australia. It has been 6 years since I first started working with a leading migration agency. Throughout my tenure, if there is one thing I have learnt, is that the Migration Agents have very little influence over the department of immigration when it comes to allocation of files or speeding the process when these files are up for assessment. At most a migration agent can do is ring up the department and speak with the manager of a processing team or complain to the global feedback unit. This, usually is a very time consuming process and is mostly avoided unless the circumstances demand otherwise. MAs do not have a magic phone number which they can dial and get an application assessed faster. Though I wish they had one!

For us, Permanent Residency is a stepping stone, a life changing event and hence we get super anxious when things do not work as they are supposed to. Remember, DIBP has SLA of serving only 70% of their applications on time. Which leaves a lot of applications outside their service charter. All we can do, is hope and wish that the computer allocates our files to a case officer who works five days a week, and is quick on her feet to process and finalise an application. Other than that, there is nothing you, I or a Migration Agent can do.

Congratulations to those who received their grants today. All the best to those of us waiting with sore eyes.

Until we meet tomorrow.
