CDOG
Hi there, If the estimated time for a 189 Visa is 3 months, at what point can you make a complaint? Is it if it exceeds 3 months from when you applied, or three months from when you last provided information requested? Please help! CDOG
MaggieMay24
3 months is their published standard, but they say they aim to process 75% of applications within that time frame and individual applications may take longer. There are people who've waited 6+ months, and if an application is sent for external security checks they can take even longer. If you provided requested information 3 months ago, I'd certainly send a polite email asking if more information is required/can they estimate when a decision will be made. But don't be surprised if you get a generic "if we need anything we will let you know, we cannot provide any estimates....." type response. Suzukiscottie
Dealing with complaints will only likely slow the whole process even more.
VERYSTORMY
They do not guarantee to do it in 3 months. They say they aim to process most in that period. But, every case is different. For example, I have seen them take nearly a year if there are complex security checks needed
Pb65
It will take as long as it takes and if everyone complained it would take even longer for everyone. Just be patient and prepare for the celebration when you get approved.

Spare a thought for those who applied for visas with an advertised 5-6 months, and are now being told 12-18 months. Or those poor souls who recently waited 6-7 YEARS only to be told their vsias would not be processed at all.
