keithredpath
I will be 65 next year and am thinking about the aged parent visa. I have no children but my wife has two. Both are in Australia. Can I get a visa using my step children as sponsors. My wife is 2 years younger than me and if we waited until she was at the right age it would delay us. Also, Can I apply for this aged parent visa right now even though I wont reach the qualifying age until November 2017, bearing in mind it might take some time to come through. Is it possible to get the Visa "On Hold" until I reach 65.
VERYSTORMY
Are you aware this visa (804) has a processing time of 30 years? (That is not a typo - you would be 95 by the time it is granted).
Guest The Pom Queen
Hi @keithredpath take a look at this thread it is a wonderful source of information and support. http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/migration-issues/77756-brand-new-pio-parents-visa-thread.html Any questions you need answering by a migration agent and the one I would recommend for parent visas would be @Alan Collett at Go Matilda

See this blog post I wrote on the subject in September 2015: http://www.gm-parent-visas.com/present-indicative-visa-processing-timelines-subclass-804-aged-parents/ Best regards. Quoll
Your wife (and you) could get a CPV quicker!
