This is where I am getting my estimate of AUD 5750. My agent says it is nearer AUD 110,000. Am I missing something.

Does anyone know how much an Aged Parent Visa costs? I am getting conflicting advice. Also, on reading about the new Parent Visa coming out in November 2017, does this seem too good to be true - A 5 year Visa for $10, 000.

My wife and I are 63 and 64 respectively. we applied for Visa 173 in June 2016. We plan to retire and emigrate to Australia in November. We are building our house at present. When we arrive in Australia via a tourist Visa is it possible to stay there until our 173 Visa comes through? Also, When would we be eligible to work? We have heard we might be able to get a "Bridging Visa" when we arrive that would give us the same rights as our forthcoming 173 Visa and therefore would be able to work. Can anyone clarify? Have we choose the right Visa to apply for. we are sponsored by our daughter.

How long does it take to process my Contributory Parent Visa 143? I have had no communications from the Australian Government

I have applied for either a 143 or a 173 Visa. Is there any way to check on its progress.

I am doing my own Visa Application and came across the statement "Certified Copies" of Birth Certificates etc. What are Certified Copies. I have spent a few pounds getting copies of Marriage Lines. Divorce Papers, Birth Certificates, etc. All I have done so far is photo copy them with a view to send them in. Are these documents acceptable?

I was told I couldn't apply for an Aged Parent Visa until I was 65. I was also told it could take up to 2 years to process this Visa. Therefore there can be no 65 or 66 year olds who have this Visa. Why not let people apply early and when they attain their 65th birthday let them have their Visas. To maximise the benefit to Australia, surely you should let these people in as soon as possible to take full advantage of their skills before they retire.

Are there any exceptional circumstances where a Australian Visa can be granted without going through the normal Visa protocols. I have reached the end of my tether with the current system. It seems it is designed to reject the applicant without reason or logic. It also appears to have an inbuilt discrimination against the aged. In my opinion it is bordering on illegal.

My wife is 2 years younger than me and if we waited until she was at the right age it would delay us.
