Michelle84
Another question!! On a skilled independent or skilled sponsored visa there are no school fees to pay is that right? Can anyone recommend any good primary and high schools around the Attadale, Bicton, East Fremantle areas or surrounding areas?

Skani
There are no school fees for permanent visa holders You will, though, have to pay a "levy" for each child each year. Exactly how much will depend on the school. You may get more response on your school questions by also asking in the West Australia subforum. Que Sera Sera
Skilled sponsored is a 457? Or are you State Sponsrered? 457 I'm pretty certain you now have to pay.
cheese n pickle
Hi Michelle84, yes there are charges. I'm in Vic and a permanent resident. My daughter's previous primary school, I think charged $140 per year and called them Parental contributions, other things were also charged for such as school diary, portfolio, mathletics etc. Both my girls are now in high school and fees are charged per subject, such as $30 Maths, $25 English, school diary, locker etc. The most expensive is VCE Outdoor Ed which is around $600. If you don't pay, you don't do the subject. Voluntary charges only apply to Building fund and chaplaincy fund.
VERYSTORMY
I think the OP was referring to the government charges that apply to 457 holders - $4000 per year in WA
Suzukiscottie
Skilled sponsored is a 457? Or perhaps EN186.
