Jay92000
Hi all just wondering how long the normal processing time would be ffor a permanent residency visa. Thanks
MaggieMay24
It depends on what kind of visa you are applying for and where you're applying from. Skilled migrant visas (189, 190) take a 2-4 months while partner visas take 10-12. Applicants from high risk countries may have additional security checks that extend the process. jumpingjellybean
Depends on many factors. Mine took four months. But I know someone who is still going after two years!
Nemesis
Depends on many factors. Mine took four months. But I know someone who is still going after two years! And look at the poor souls who have waited 6-7 years only to be told their applications will now not be processed at all.
Bungo
Hi all just wondering how long the normal processing time would be ffor a permanent residency visa. Thanks They are not all processed the same way or within the same time frame rather. There are some permanent visas that are processed within a few months, others have an estimated processing time of 56 years!

MaggieMay24
From her posting history, she came as a dependent on a 457 visa a couple years back so it wouldn't be an off shore spouse visa. But whether it's an employer sponsored PR or independent skilled is unknown.

Not heard about this. What do you mean? Are you talking about asylum seekers?
jumpingjellybean
It all depends where you are applying from .. Oh yes now THAT is a biggie. I forgot about that point. I applied in New Zealand. And hardly anyone applies from there, since Kiwis can pretty much come and go as they please. So I think it was me and a couple of Fijian people applying at the same time. And not thousands of people applying from the UK or somewhere similarly overworked and busy.
Nemesis
Not heard about this. What do you mean? Are you talking about asylum seekers? No, those who applied for 175,176 and 475 and have now been capped and ceased. http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/migration-issues/239452-subclass-175-176-475-new-discussion-thread.html
