Skin cancer clinics/specialists in Perth

I've been intending to go for a check up and to get a base line, but last night I found a patch on my arm which I'd like to get checked out. I looked at the Apollo Clinic in Cannington, but looking at the doctors profiles most of them just have an 'interest' in skin cancer.

There is one in South Perth which looks more promising, just thought I'd ask about others experience first.

I'm not sure but if it was me I'd want to see a qualified Dr because some of those clinics operate without Drs as far as I'm aware? My GP checked out my suspect moles for me on a visit.

Absolutely! I thought there might be specific clinics where I could 'self refer', thought I could organise an appointment for when I get back. I'll sort a GP appointment. Thank you HH.

Lindor my Brother in Law and his parents have used the South Perth one for years, they lived in Newman for many years, and I know they highly recommend them, good luck xxx

I've just looked at their website and they do look good! I'll need a referral so I'll mention them to my GP. Thank you xxx

  • 2 weeks later...

So, I saw my GP in the UK for a script and showed him my arm and he said it was a basal cell carcinoma, which is what I thought it looked like. I've been to my doctor here this morning and showed him, he jumped up and said "I'll freeze it"!!!

Then he said he'd wait because I have a chest infection, I have to go back in 2 weeks. Does anyone know if this is the usual treatment?

Yes Hun that's one of the normal (and very effective) ways they deal with it.

My wife found one of those on my head yesterday and told me she would bring home the liquid nitrogen and 'freeze the bugger off'

She does them all the time, they are common and easy to deal with, so much so that as a nurse, the doctor doesn't do anything more than say, 'yep, get on with it!'
