UK spouse visa advice

In order to be eligible for a spouse

visa to Australia, you must fulfill the following requirements:

Unless you are legally married, you must have been in a

spouse relationship for the last 12 months, which usually involves showing

that you have lived together during this period

Generally, you both need to be aged 18 or over.

You must pass health and character criteria.

Thank You

i think she wants a UK visa not an Aussie one.

The financial requirements are going to be the hardest. Is there any UK Ancestry which might get him an Ancestry visa - much easier! Failing that, what about access to an EU passport through any other ancestry? The Irish are particularly helpful I believe? We were lucky that the rules for citizenship through UK born mother were relaxed just before we needed to get a visa!

Has anyone applied for a UK spouse visa (for my Australian husband), without using an agent.. Was it easy? Any advice? Thanks, Jo.

I did it for my wife... you don't need an agent at all

Use expatforum - loads of great advice on there from experts. It really isn't that difficult a process if you meet all the requirements.

If you are both in Australia it is a lot harder to meet the criteria though. I was fortunate I was in the UK and my wife overseas when we applied for hers so I already had a job and house.. The 2 difficult bits to prove if neither of you are here.
