Bowgs
Apologies if this has been asked before but I can't find it on the search. Do I need to take the IELTS if I score over 60 points without it? I'm looking to get a 190 visa (NSW) as a gasfitter. I have read that some occupations require you to take the IELTS regardless of points? Thanks in advance. MaggieMay24
For a gasfitter, no. You're right that there are some occupations that may require it but those are ones such as accountant, teacher, nurse, etc.

Provided you have a UK passport and your occupation (well, skills assessors) don't need you to have a certain score... no.

No if you have a British passport there is no need. It is quite unusual to be able to pass the points test without it though.
VERYSTORMY
Just be VERY careful you have calculated your points correctly. If you over claim a single point you will be refused the visa and lose the fee - expensive mistake and happens regularly.
