Guest Guest16631
Is the majority of Aussies from British stock? ....Most Australians are still of British ancestry.[34] More than 92 percent of all Australians descend from Europeans.[35] Anglo-Celtic Australians (English, Scottish, Welsh, Cornish or Irish ancestral origin) make up 74 percent of the Australian population .......Although some observers stress Australia's convict history, the vast majority of early settlers came of their own free will.[39] Far more Australians are descended from assisted immigrants than from convicts, the majority were British and Irish.[40] About 20% of Australians are descendants of convicts. .........http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_Australia.............interesting reading....!
