Is there anybody coming to Perth in the near future that hasn't packed their container and would be willing to bring something over that we cannot get in Australia and it is so frustrating (not food).:arghh:

Thank you

Tell us what it is, we may be able to help you source it elsewhere or suggest an alternative.

Thanks Northernbird. It would be amazing if you are able to source one, we have tried everywhere, I have emailed a few shops to ask if they can ship, but no luck at the moment.

It would be a brand new item, so there wouldn't be any worry with it.

Anyway, here's a link which shows what we are wanting. http://www.bedsbbq.co.uk/barbecue-shop/weber-smokey-mountain-57cm.html, :daydreaming:

A BBQ. You want help because you can't find a BBQ in Australia.

And this wouldn't fit the bill?

I like that shop because you can pretty much tell what they're selling from the name. Unlike Dick Smith, Harvey Norman. Why were Australias' pioneer retailers so egotistical? That could have at least given us a clue with "Dick Smith Electronics", or "Harvey Norman Overpriced Sh*te".

A quick google came up with this shop in NSW.

http://www.thebarbequestore.com.au/weber-smokey-mountain-cooker/?utm_source=myshopping&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=BBQ+and+Grill&utm_term=Weber+Smokey+Mountain+Cooker+K721001

They might be willing to ship to you but I think it will be at a cost.

Edited to add: found this one too https://www.pricepirate.com.au/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=K721001&utm_source=myshopping&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=BBQ+and+Grill&utm_term=WEBER+K721001+SMOKEY+MOUNTAIN+COOKER+47CM+BBQ

Hahaha, I know it's crazy that you can buy this in UK and not here.

It's not just a bbq, it's a smoker  have a look at this and you will want one too, it does show a small pig, so if you are a vegetarian, you may not want to watch (sorry). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSJv_0Liy90, oh and the ribs that you can do on it are to die for (better than Tony Roma's)

We already have a 57cm Charcoal Weber and it's used all the time, but this one is the next step.

Thanks for all of the links though, unfortunately they are all for the small one 47cm, we bought that one, brought it home and you can't even fit the rib rack in it, so it was returned.

Have a look on youtube for "Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker", you will get very hungry

Yep. 120 bucks to deliver, plus about 650 for the item itself. Cool looking BBQ though. Looks a bit like R2D2 after Darth Vader entices him over to the dark side.

Never thought of that, once we eventually get one, with somebody's help, we'll name it R2D2..... Can't wait to smoke - bacon, ham, oysters, cheese, fish... yummmmm

What you are asking people to do is illegal. Migrants only get an exemption from customs duties if they are shipping their own possessions and if they are over 12 months old. The shipper has to sign a declaration saying this is so and could be criminally liable if caught.

there are plenty of shipping companies around so you can have it delivered to a UK address and then shipped by the shipping company to Oz. if you can afford to spend this amount of money on a BBQ - hardly an item which is difficult to get in Australia, then you can afford to get it shipped over. Anyone who agreed to put it in their shipping container for you must be an idiot.

hhahaha oh dear shipping someones stuff you dont know, i would be very dubious of that, never mind its illegal it would be more what you can hide inside it...........i hope noone offers to do if they have any sense. Now Australia is the other side of the world but its not an undeveloped country where you cant get a BBQ, Surley Australia is the king of bbs lol. Just seen as well your previous post about the sofas, why are you asking people and not ship things over yourself? Also the have sites such as gumtree there to get stuff, it all sounds a bit odd to me to be honest:confused: exactly what is the reason you cant get your own stuff there without relying on people taking your stuff for you? Odd very odd.........

Yeh the “Smoker” is happening. All happy and legitimate, made sure that all the i's are dotted and the t's are crossed.

My consignment is within a consignment (groupage/shared container), I have my own paperwork and it will be removed from the container and cleared through customs separately.

Sometimes you just need to think outside of the “Box”.
