What qualifications do i need to work in a child day care center

Hello,

 

Can anyone tell me what qualifications i would need to work in a nursery/kinder in Melbourne.

At the moment i work as a cook in Scotland . When we move out to Melbourne i want a change

in career . So any advice would be great .

Hi to work in a child care centre you will need some kind of police check not sure what it is in Melbourne tho, and you will need a cert 3 in childcare to be an assistant educator or a diploma which allows you to be a Lead educator ( basically run a classroom) can work full time whilst studying these

Cert 3 is a TAFE qualification- you would have to look for the equivalent in the UK.

Yes you can, via online study, from an approved Australian education provider.

They offer the level 3 at evening classes when you get to Australia too -costs about $400 for a PR.
