auss
Hi All We are planning to move end of next year hopefully. Our daughter would be turning 5 in December 2013 so I believe that she would be starting her prep in year 2014. When do I Enroll her for 2014?Can I get the enrollment forms once I reach there say October/November?or the forms need to be collected during a specified time period. Thank you in advance for your kind replies...
calNgary
Schools may vary but our local primary have the forms available from late October and have an open day early November for all Prep emrolments, so your timing should be fine Cal x
Alaska
Our school does enrolments from around Aug and still doing them now. In fact class lists for Prep have gone out today and there is an induction this week. You can still enrol any time - we arrived in March so my son enrolled then. Quoll
Doesn't matter. Government schools are obliged to find a place for a child in their catchment area no matter when you rock up. Your priority will be to find permanent accommodation as many schools won't take an enrolment until you have one.
auss
Thank you all... A great relief... So I guess we will not have much time before we find a permanent accommodation...uuumm that will add to the job hunting plus accommodation...Well hoping for the best... mtomov
In my school we interview our prep families about May. This means we have been collecting them since the start of the year or even earlier. We are a Catholic primary school with vacancies in Hendra in Brisbane. It is much more difficult to get into many of our schools. State schools do take all who live in their catchment.
