We are on day 8 and honestly the facilities are great- we got the Novotel Murray st and have a huge suite- 3 rooms, one for kids with 2x double beds, and bathroom, master bedroom with huge bed and en-suite then another room with basic kitchen, dining table and sofa. Tvs in all the rooms and we are on 25th floor so lovely views and floor to ceiling windows which make it so much nicer to be able to look out and see the outside world. Food is ok we’ve done a takeaway and also had a Coles delivery of snacks and bread etc. Ordered a coffee machine as we are big coffee drinkers! Everyone has been lovely and taking great care of us so definitely can’t complain! When are you flying over?

We know Perth well as have been many time’s and have lots of family here...have a shortlist of areas but only area we aren’t familiar with is canning vale so are wanting to get to know the area better before we make any decisions! Going to spend the next month visiting houses in our shortlist areas, going to the local parks and of course coffee shops so we can hopefully come to a decision!!

We’ve just moved to Perth from Nothampton UK...currently in quarantine in the city! Looking at canning vale as an area to move to! What’s it like? We also have 2 kids 7 and 4...and love a drink! Apart from family here we have no friends which is going to be really hard as we had a great group of friends and a really busy social life in the UK!

We flew into Perth yesterday with Emirates. They have one flight a week

Just thought I would update with some more info. We flew into Perth yesterday with Emirates from Heathrow. The flight was absolutely fine- from Dubai to Perth it was almost empty I’m guessing due to the capping of numbers. All really straightforward at the airport and very well organised. We have been put into the Novotel on Murray st. Travelling with two young kids and have got a 2 bed suite with plenty of space. Think we were lucky and have not had to pay I think that’s coming into force for arrivals landing from Friday. My mum is due to move over also and has booked with emirates for mid August. When she called that was the last flight they said they were scheduling so I don’t know what their plan is long term. We are really pleased to be here it’s a bit of a relief as we have been up in the air for the last few months with selling house, leaving jobs and then covid so super happy we’ve made it xx

No idea! I don’t think we will know until we land...also we go into quarantine on Wednesday and they start charging on Friday so not sure if we will have to pay for part of ours or if we’ve Just missed it. Will let you know any info when I get it xx great news on the house bet your excited to get things moving x

Little update Emirates have opened up a once a week flight into Perth! Lands on a Wednesday we have booked our flights on 14th July! Finally got a date

Hi we are still holding out at the moment and waiting to see if there are any more flights released this week....got fingers crossed we can find one that flys directly into Perth. We are planning if possible to fly the first week of July. Gutted Rottnest island is not going to be somewhere to quarantine any more as I have 2 young boys and the thought of being in a hotel room fills me with dread! Will let you know once we’ve got some flights! Family are ok about us going ahead with flights! Probably because they are fed up of us all living with them now keep me updated with your developments. X

Hi, we are literally in exactly the same situation, I’m dual citizen, husband got his 309/100 in Feb and we are moving to Perth. We moved out of our house last week and are staying with family. Keen to know when we can get flights to Perth. Currently the airport is shut. Hoping Qantas might put some more reparation flights on soon....let me know if you find out any more info As I seem to be spending hours with not much result! x

Might be worth double checking- our migration agent sent the link to the form to us- I am Australian and both kids have Australian passports also. We are in a similar situation- husband and myself were made redundant end of last year. His visa came through Feb and we got our house sold and let schools know here etc that we were leaving. The sale was put on hold due to current situations but is now going ahead on Monday so we will be staying with family for now but wanting to head over as soon as possible to start looking for jobs and get the kids into schools etc...just concerned on flights etc. From what I can see we need to complete a form to get permission to fly, then there are a limited amount on one way flights with Qantas (Emirates flight) and then it will be a 14day quarantine when we get there. Not ideal at all. We plan on going beginning of July now so hoping maybe things might be easier by then but I have a feeling it won’t as I know on Qantas website it says till at least the end of July

Any advice would be massively appreciated! We are in the process of packing up our house in the UK and getting it shipped to Perth. My husband is a diesel mechanic and has been for 15 years- he has a huge collection of tools and his tool box. He’s spent weeks cleaning them all but we are now not sure what to do with insuring them for the shipment. Should each tool be listed individually and should we cost each one or should just a general total for the whole tool box? He stated listing each tool on a spreadsheet today- 8 hours in and he’s only on box 4 out of 11 so if there is an easier way we would love to hear it!!

Just got the email we've been waiting for my husbands 309/100 granted today. I screamed and then I cried! Have been checking this thread and the gov website daily and looking at the waiting times and feeling gutted that it could be months more to wait. So giving all those hope that are still waiting that it appears they are speeding up a bit on the wait times! lodged 26th June 2019 from the Uk but via an agent in Perth front loaded with police checks upon lodgement. Medical January 2020 Granted 309/100 17th Feb 2020 together since 2010, married since 2015 and two children. house sold last week- planning on being starting our new life in Perth April/May time. good luck to you all- look forward to hearing more grants coming through in the next few weeks rebecca
