  1. That sounds like a really nice break for them since such a long flight.
  2. Congratulations agmc! This is so exciting to hear you applied in May! I’m only a few months behind you (August). Thank you for posting!
  3. That’s why I’d like other people’s success stories using them.
  4. Thank God for this thread! If it hadn’t been for you Paul and Neill, I could be out of some serious money!
  5. Ooh what does that mean? Lol I thought I’m okay, I signed the declaration about criminal activity but then I saw Neill’s last post. Geezus , they are really tough. I got it easy coming to the UK, only had to get a UK passport and waltz in.. lol
  6. Hi Paul, I will have another look. After posting I called the global center and was told that not to worry unless they request it , they might not need too ( sounds like case by case ).Later they looked into some info where it mentions it and so I was told they probably might ask. So a bit confused. Part of me wants to panic and get both done right now and part of me is wanting to sit back and wait and see.
  7. You only need an Australian police check, if you have actually lived over there. My husband only submitted the UK police certificate. As the Aussie wife and sponsor, I haven’t had a police check for the UK or OZ, I’m pretty sure I wasn’t asked for one in the portal.
  8. What are you experinces? I was thinking of using them as they have direct flights. However stories like today’s worries me. This isn’t the first time I have heard of them leaving dogs out in the heat to die on the tarmac and both these dogs are snub nosed breeds. https://www.news.com.au/travel/travel-updates/incidents/qantas-shame-my-poor-boy-suffered-a-terrible-death/news-story/60df72eed3ca3fdc15a33381853e64cd Fortunately, I don’t have a snub-nosed but the lack of commonsense and care by Qantas staff makes me extremely anxious considering I have read this happening with them ages ago and they STILL have not learned from it and rather not take any responsibility.
  9. So they’re up to March now. Does anyone know on average, how fast they get through a month’s intake? For example how many months wait before they start on April? Obviously I want them to get to August as fast as they can.lol
  10. Wow, I’m so relieved now that wasn’t an option, as what you have pointed out, wouldn’t have occurred to me. Thanks Marisa.
  11. Your hubby can go over on a visitor visa for up to 12 months. I posted the other day asking if my husband could get a bridging visa as I want to go back home early next year and the advice I got was no, he won’t get one. It seems it’s only for people who apply onshore in Australia. Which suxs as my husband won’t be allowed to work, therefore we have to stay put and wait for his visa to be approved. I applied in August and the waiting time was 17 months. Have you considered you could be over there a year or so before he gets his visa? you would be better off staying here another year, unfortunately.
  12. That’s disgusting they wait 9 months before requesting further information. I was told when I called them that they start working on your file right away, surely it doesn’t take 9 months to realise information is missing. I was also told that hubby shouldn’t have submitted the medical and police check as it could run out before it gets approved. However it was requesting the medical on the dashboard. It’s a lot of money you’re paying them, so they should be expected to be competent in their processing of it.
  13. Yeah, I do understand why the UK is a priority. The desperation comment is about them being more likely to lie to immigration, have a fake marriage etc. In other words a high risk.
  14. You know I did wonder that and wanted to ask about it, but didn’t want to cause offence. But glad you confirmed what I thought. It’s not a desperate situation for people to get out of the UK as it would be for less fortunate countries. All I can do is hope, pray and play the lottery hahaha.
  15. Oh wow 18 months, geez. I really hope you hear something very soon. When I read someone a page or two back applied in March this year and got approved in December, I was hoping it’s no more than a nine month wait on average.
  16. What is the average waiting time for married couples? Do they have a priority over engaged couples? I’m Australian and my husband is English. Next year will be 9 years together (8 living together, 6 married). We applied in August 19. I regret not applying from Australia instead, as I am desperate to be back in OZ now.
