  1. Yep, I’m with you! We applied July and not expecting to hear anything anytime soon. We’re tempted to apply for a 600 but a little apprehensive!
  2. Also people are still waiting from Jan 2019
  3. I think U.K. turnaround is one of the slowest I’ve come across. Which is strange. I guess it could be volume in the UK due to the increased number of Aussie/Brit heritage
  4. Oh jeeee! I can’t imagine being in that kind of limbo! Thankfully we’re renting and can just go whenever we want. Where are you going to be living in Aus? Hopefully with it coming up to a year you won’t have to wait too much longer it’s so sad how much we pay for this and to be waiting for something for so long
  5. Me too! I just want to be over, even if I have to leave! We were thinking January/February 2020. As we want to have some more savings as I don’t th j they will grant us more than 6 months on 5k AND I think as we applied in July I wouldn’t want 6 months to be up before July 2020 as I have seen from previous applications they are taking 12 months +
  6. I think people are expecting to wait at least a year before any grants at the moment!
  7. It’s the savings bit that worries me, and the fact you are only a ‘visitor’ so at immigration when arriving in Australia, so could still turn you away. It puts so much fear into me!! When are you planning on going?
  8. I know it’s quite personal to ask but how long did you ‘ask’ for? I’m worried we don’t have enough savings to get 12 months so I feel like there is not much point applying we have £5k in the bank so I’m worried they will think it’s not enough. However we will have an invite from my partners family who we will be staying with. I’m sure now you have insurance you’ll get it quite quickly.
  9. I’m thinking of applying for a 600. Can you please please please please please let me know how you get on and how long you get. I’m wanting to apply but I’m just too worried something bad will happen.
  10. Hi Paul, Absolutley. We want to visit for family and not wait for the 309/100 to see them. However if the 309/100 gets approved while we are there anyway I will fly out for it to be granted. If I get granted a visitor visa for 6 months I’ll fly after 6 months if I get granted a 12 month I’ll fly after 12. I basically don’t have a leave date in mind as we’re planning on living there anyway. I just want to do what is right.
  11. Hello I applied for my 309/100 visa in July and have front loaded everything apart from my medical. Things are set to be slow but me, my partner and our daughter want to visit Australia. The plan would be for my partner and daughter to stay and for me to leave and come back. I want to apply for a 600 and hope that they give me 6-12 months. I know it ‘sounds’ like we want to be in Australia while the 309/100 is granted but we really want to go over as our daughter is nearly one and we want to take her over to see family for a long stay. We’d be staying with his family and they are supporting our stay. Do we just explain this to them on the 600? Or will they just think I’m trying to stay. We will have around £5000 in savings and can get a letter from our family in Australia to say they are supporting or holiday/stay Any tips advice? I’m worried I’ll get stopped by immigration if I only have a one way ticket
  12. So we’re going to apply for a 600 in January and aim to travel in February. We applied for 309/100 in July and front loaded everything apart from medical. We will have around £5000 in our bank account as savings. For anyone who has applied for a 600 and travelled from the U.K. can you help me? We will be flying one way with Emirates. Me (British) fiancé (Aus brit dual national) and our 1 year old daughter (Aus passport). I am employed and will be employed still when we leave. We’re going to be living with my partners parents anyway, so they are supporting us on the 309 and the 600 anyway. So the way we look at it we’re going for a long Aussie holiday up to a year. So what kind of things do they ask for when applying for the 600 and can anyone recommend a good insurance?
  13. I really just hate being in the UK now. Thinking maybe after Xmas I will just give up and go! We will be flying with Emirates.
  14. So we applied for 309/100 in July. We would love to be in Aus sooner. if I fly over on a 600, without a ticket back, is that ok? As long as I can show funds for my stay etc. If so that would be amazing!!!!
  15. Hey all! Joining this thread We front loaded (minus medical) on the 22/7 I am british, partner is Australian but is also a dual national for U.K. we have a daughter who is a dual citizen together. Were going to be living in the blue mountains west of Sydney! Can’t wait to be back. Heard nothing yet of course! Just patiently waiting. Seems like the UK is so slow at applications atm! Someone in Nepal, their partner VISA took only 3 months
