  1. Hi Ali, that's great thanks for looking into this. Yes, good to be inclusive but sometimes non-uk passports have different checks before their visas are considered. (Tier 1/2/3 country checks) Just an observation. May even save some time for the agents who post. Look forward to an update shortly!
  2. To the moderators. When browsing forums there seems to be a lot of posts going to incorrect forums (not a huge deal by any means), but is it not time to revamp the forum titles? You have 491 posting in "skilled visas" and temporary visas and so on. Citizenship queries should definitely have their own subforum, and potentially skills assessments. Ielts/pte maybe there own forum as is points related. Also pinned topics tend to take up most of your mobile screen page and truthfully most are redundant and people are aware of them. It's a great site but needs updating. Also the site is called in poms in oz, can you include (mandatory in your sig) where you are from and we may be able to assist their queries more efficiently? Also if someone is onshore or offshore, these are factors when looking to assist someone. Rushed example below! Skilled Permanent 189/190 Skilled Provisional/Temp 482/489*/491 Citizenship WHV/Student Business Skills/Sponsored Skills Assessments Appeals/Cancelled visa/Sec48Bar Other topics (Ielts/PTE/NAATI) Thoughts? Many thanks
  3. Was a good time frame. Our agent was too quoting the same processing times then so was comfortable doing it at the get go. I think they have a spreadsheet on how to delay applications based on information you have provided. I think we were weeks from our grant then the covid wheels came off. Hopefully the 10 nurses they have since drafted in as critical skills makes all the difference in the post covid recovery along with the engineers. Worry is they seem to be keen on brining in droves of students from the asia region (easy money) which would push us back further as they would occupy every hotel in Australia whist in quarantine, and no doubt a few will be covid etc then we will be sent to back of queue again. Lo k down etc. School clothes dusted, kids going back to school (ozzie school advised we won't be there sep) who knows when this debacle will end.
  4. It's really not easy especially if it is not your first choice state. But we are all here trying to get in one way or another so understand why you are taking a punt. I would also find out what the teaching requirements are in wa, teaching may just come back on the list October so don't want to be caught out if registration is required and can skip the Vic route. I would ask your agent about relatives in other states whilst applying to Vic. It may just be the case that certain occupations may just get away with it but am aware it is a real issue with them. Vic is one of the few states that has most of the occupations listed for 190 but doesn't mean they'll sponsor, so it's easy for the mara to say we'll approach Vic as they are sponsoring and there is no mention of issues regarding family in other states so they would be "optimistic", but reality is they would know the family in another state is an issue. Having a family member in oz is only a benefit if you are moving to that state all other circumstances it has a negative affect on your application or is no benefit at all. A person with no family ties in oz and never stepped foot on their soil has better chance of sponsorship from Vic as they are not a risk of moving interstate once pr is granted. Fingers crossed for you nevertheless, keep us all updated.
  5. If you front load and all your ducks are in a row, you should receive your grant without any case off contact or previous change in application status. On the other hand, should you have opted out of front loading you are relying on Co contact before your application can progress. Both are personal preference but our agent preferred a ready application. If you happy to wait longer and provide documents retrospectively then not front loading is for you. For us our medicals are done which can trip you at the final hurdle! All the best all.
  6. Hi, regarding family sponsorship only a small amount are given and your occupation has to be on the main list. A state sponsored 491 is more probable. I also note the op has opted to apply for a 190 in Vic. They are extremely picky who they nominate even if you ticked all their boxes. One thing they fail to tell you is that if you have family in another state they are extremely reluctant to sponsor you and more than likely to reject your eoi. Happened to people we know. They did however say that a job contract/irrevocable offer of employment with commencement date they would reconsider the nomination. Issue is that you need to declare any family in Australia and then they say thank you for your money thus far, all the best. I can't see Vic providing nomination unfortunately unless already living and working there.
  7. Only you should know what exactly you do. But based on what you are saying as you are "Renewing ACS", surely that is the anzsco you should be using? Flip flopping between job profiles to me doesn't make sense and what about all the work experience claimed on previous skills assessment, will you only be claiming the "new" experience under the new anzsco? I think you need to have a further discussion with your MARA and advise them which anzsco what you want them to present for you. All the best with your decision.
  8. Hi, unfortunately AITSL will not recognise Montessori qualifications, so would not put anymore money into it this route. There should though be a few threads of people having the same issues or can jump in saying what they had to do to gain a positive skills assessment. Try approach a MARA, as may have some good advice for you both moving forward. All the best.
  9. I agree with all comments, and hopeful things will move forward for us. Apparently the person interviewed is bitter with the government and other commentators have posted saying ignore anything that he is a says, that being said they are clearly halting offshore. We are sponsored by the states on 190 visa, which should equate to necessary skills not necessarily critical, but needed. I also don't believe there is any official line from gov saying that offshore visas are not being processed. What I think is they may resume invites again October onward but is already in the queue are in a different boat. Also it would make sense to grant our pr as we can fulfil our quarunttine before the rest of the students arrive in their droves. Our agent still says delayed but not stopped, so going to have to trust their advice... Here's to another sleepless night
  10. We are in a similar position, Qld 190 albeit end of 2019. We were anticipating a grant around May. Also desperate to fly out, not wanting children to go back to school September. Our agents, who have been very good too don't provide updates and we are in the "don't call us, we'll call you bracket", so always feel in the dark. But they have been brilliant to get us this far. We also front loaded, which I'm happy with, imagine being asked for medicals now, and then been shoved to the back of the queue which I've heard in some cases (normal times) have added 3 months! If you not desperate to fly out and tight with budget it could make sense to wait for case officer. Another thing worth noting is that no case office contact does not imply you are not being looked at and may just receive the grant off the bat. Missing documents, not front loaded on the other hand may tell you how far you are from visa grant as you need case officer contact. We have been told to ignore the processing times for 190. They are cherry picking and processing onshore which I have seen June invites processed in 3 weeks, this distorts the percentile. Say there are a 1000 invites onshore and offshore over a 7 month period if 900 are onshore we are the 10% that are not going to effect their beloved stats. And will be processed in their own time. Two things, they are still processing pr visa's which is brilliant as we can fly but priority is low. Onshore visas pr are being dealt with and June no more invites were given, that means they will have to start looking at us shortly. The timframe will probably jump to 10 months as we are the remaining unprocessed 190s and then would queue as normal. This is extremely difficult and we are pissed everyday we wake up, but still hopeful it happens sooner rather than later. Also we are extremely lucky to get a 190, and especially for Qld (our first choice) as immigration for new people may just become impossible and pr off the bat a thing of the past!
  11. Not at all. The relevant States' Education Departments decide on who is really qualified to teach and not AITSL. My wife also did a 3 year BA in primary education and too is registered to teach in two different states in Australia, was a simple process. According to the relevant states we dealt with it's actually harder to obtain teaching registration if applying via the 3yr +1 yr PGCE route, a further portfolio is required on top of further assessments.
