  1. You are right I apologies sincerely - my info was incorrect I stand corrected. I was confusing with another company. I will heed your advice
  2. They charge you for the transfer in hidden costs - you better off with XE I have already used them they very good with excellent rates - you get a letter in the post to confirm your registeration so they very legit. I have already used them and the transfer is free - I sent $5,000 to my daughter and there were no extra charges on either side she received the funds after 24 hours - we both got emails confirming the transfer. I believe TorFX work in a similar manner. I have registered on both and will keep an eye on the ROE - you can set up a rate alert as well. You can also open up a ANZ bank account from outside Aus but you need an estimated date of arrival - this is also done online. I have done LOTS of research!
  3. Thank you that is very helpful. I transferred funds today via XE and they are fantastic - I am fortunate that my daughter has a savings account open but doesn't use it so I am using that at the moment and doing the transfer in batches to get the best ROE (transfer is free). Once I am there i will just open an account with the same bank as her and transfer the funds. ANZ allow you to open up a bank account online whilst outside Australia but unfortunately you need to give them an estimated arrival date which is very difficult.
  4. Hi can I ask did they request the Form 80 from your mom? I just want to get all my documents completed beforehand with the relevant details and then will just sign and date it when requested.
  5. For those that were asked for additional documents did that include bank statements? The reason I am asking is that I want to start transferring funds across to my daughters bank account as the ROE is pretty good at the moment and wanted to transfer before BREXIT starts taking effect and the ROE drops down to 1.56 as it did when it was 1st announced. It currently sits at 1.79. I don't want to end up sending a statement with nothing in it if I needed to prove I have funds. Much appreciated and living vigorously through those that received visas today! 173 Lodged 30.10.15 / acknowledged payment receipt 02.11.15
  6. Thanks for your response - I been looking back at the past posts and saw a very interesting grid which gives a good indication and looks like mine may be granted in March 2019 not too bad and as you say less than a year. I have spent the past 6 years "waiting". I used to be a brunette I am now totally grey from waiting for so long. I keep thinking that I will end up having to apply for the aged parent visa at this rate and I am only 58 ? I have not thought about the 600 holiday visa but i think at this late stage I have to be out of Australia to complete the 173 so it would not work at this stage and as long as i am in UK i can continue working and saving. I noticed as well applying for the 143 after 2 years is also a major delay and this is when we need to apply for the AOS so I am thinking as soon as i get there after 6 months i will start that process and get to be permanent asap. Good luck to everyone will be watching progress continuously with the hope there is an increase in the numbers of visas issued from 7150 to 8000 would make a big difference - the country could only benefit with the costs of a CPV
  7. Hi, Getting really impatient when I have a new life with my kid and grandkids lies ahead - keep getting disappointed when I go onto the website to look at the processing times and see 48 months! I applied for the 173 to give me time to save for the 2nd VAC as I wanted to save everything before immigrating. I am already at that stage where I should have gone for the 143 it has taken so long. Does anyone know if you can withdraw the 173 and apply for the 143 without it affecting my timings? I would hate to have to go back to the beginning again. I initially had the Parent Visa but that was for over 15 years in 2012 and withdrew that and applied for the 173 only to be requested for all the additional documents straight away - I didn't realise as i had already been in a queue for 3 years already they moved me to the top but i didnt have the funds at the time so had to withdraw and reapply in October. Its probably safe to just stay as it is as it is getting closer. I just keep thinking "I will be there this time next year" my only saving grace! Thank you for this its been very interesting and comforting to see I am not on my own! 173 lodged 30.10.2015 1st payment acknowledged 1.11.15
