  1. National Police Clearance. (Unless we all are playing some kind of online game lol.)
  2. They don't. I just made it up. If there is no official information provided on the DoHA web site, this is probably the only way to answer such questions.
  3. It is visa. As I know you cannot import the nomination (as it may contain private employer info).
  4. I did not, as I applied via the TRT stream. Though, possibly researchers are exempted from it, not sure.
  5. My uni will not nominate you for the 186 visa unless you have a three-years contract.
  6. It is a very good question, and I do not know the answer. Uni staff usually get three years contract at most. Given that the current timeline is more than one year, most of us would have less than two years left, at the time of possible visa approval. I assume (and hope) this should be still fine. Otherwise, universities will complain about this situation, as it was already the case when they removed Uni Lecturer from the MLTSSL list.
  7. You surely can. But then you will not be able to get the visa using the approved nomination.
  8. No, it does not mean that. Once the nomination is lodged it gets its reference number.
  9. Thanks, mate! Best of luck to you too! I think (and hope) we should get it by Christmas, given that they are already processing January right now.
  10. It was approved in February 2018, and I lodged my visa application in April. It is very close to your dates, so we can use each other for the reference ?
  11. Nope, as far as I know it. By withdrawing the application in this case you just avoid having a visa application refused. The refused visa applications are usually requested to be declared in the consequent visa applications.
  12. The visa costs are too high, and the money will be lost if nomination gets refused. In his case there are five applicants, so I guess it is at least 15k cost in total. I also applied for visa after I got my nomination approved. Even though in my case it is two applicants, I still do not want to risk loosing the money. It is not a mistake, but a well planned and thought move.
  13. This sounds to me like a logically-reasonable (or reasonably-logical?) explanation of why 186 timeline has been nearly doubled since about 2 years ago (when it was about 6-7 months).
  14. You can replace IELTS with other exams or education obtained in English, see for details this page: https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/about/corporate/information/faqs/how-can-i-prove-i-have-functional-english I think it is always requested.
  15. From the homeaffairs website: "You will need to pay the second instalment of the visa application charge if you have less than functional English and you are a secondary applicant over 18 years of age. " https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/trav/visa-1/186-?modal=/visas/supporting/Pages/employer-sponsored/second-instalment.aspx You will have to pay it only if your visa is about to be granted, and your case officer (CO) will ask you to do so (only if your partner does not have sufficient IELTS score).
  16. Yes, IELTS with 4.5 score in average. Or you have to pay about 5k, in the second instalment.
