Try to make the most of every day, dont depend on your PR. Its a waste of time if you cant enjoy while waiting. Do as much as possible to make your daily life better, do things for yourself and try not to think about it 24/7. I have had a very hard time as well and also because my partner and I are from different countries I am getting more and more stressed the closer I come to the end of my 457. But I dont want to look back one day and realised I spend 2 years stressing over something I cant control. so move houses, start exercising, book a trip and enjoy your time off! Having said that, Its hard to not think about it;) I wouldn’t be on this forum if I could follow my own advise.

I cant believe how many people applied on 28/02/2018! something to do with taking occupations off the skills list in March or just a coincidence?

Great mindset and I 100% agree! At least you can move on now!:) this is what is meant to be for you and at least you can start a family with having yours around you, which is something most of us have to give up. So enjoy!!!

Hi all, a question to everyone that has had a inspection of immigration inside their business. Please share with me how this could work. I believe we do everything right, just want to be prepared. -How do they come in and what do they ask for? - What proof are they looking for on the spot? I just want to make sure everything is ready in case they will come and also in case I am not there if anyone would come.

I have seen that happen more often on this forum. Sometimes they just want to check some things like if its still open, if you really work there and if it meets the requirements. If its all good then no worries ! Looks like something could happen soon for you!

Hi Tiziana, Do I remember it right and were you planning to leave? And are you still planning to? I am waiting almost as long as you and honestly losing hope every month again. It is hard to stay positive! are you or your migration agent doing anything? Like follow up email or something? Mine says just to wait as we waste their resources by contacting them

Why a Dead end if you only waited 10 months after your visa application?? Or was it 2017 instead of 2018?

Lets hope that they process the files within two months so they can pick up another couple of 2017 files without screwing up their numbers! It is really really annoying that there is no indication how long the remaining 10% can take. I wish there was at least a deadline for them, for any file!

Very easy to stay positive if you are getting a approval within 6 months while some of us wait for more than 18

That in combination with company size as you read in the post above, can make the processing time increase, plus all kind of other factors.

It shouldn’t impact because a DE application is in reality unrelated to your 457 visa (if you have one) . Just if you take months of unpaid leave they could argue if your position is actually needed.

As far as I know if you have a highly related study, you need only 1 year. If you have a related study 2 years and without a related study 3 years. for example my bachelor is sport management and my occupation restaurant management, which is related but not highly, so 2 years needed.

Yes I applied for a DE visa with 2 years fulltime experience and a relevant study (if not you need 3 years) . Within the 2 years there was 1.5 years fulltime plus a year parttime which counts for half of the time amount (so 0.5 years experience)

Hi all! my MA finally send an email to immigration last week as I have passed the 18 months. However we got kind of a standard reply, but want to share it anyway. Processing time are an indication of how long it takes to process 75% of applications and 90%. Individually cases might vary because of: - TRT vs. DE - Occupation ( If its on the Medium term list or not) - Company Size and turnover I dont think everyone is on the spreadsheet, including myself, but I have not seen any Restaurant Managers Approved that applied for a 186 DE after me. Only TRT or DE in another occupation. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I think that the reason mentioned in his signature was not solid according to him. lots of people get refusals based on the opinion of IMMI that the position isnt needed or that the business doesn’t have the financial capacity to pay the salary. However those reasons for refusal seem a bit stupid because people applying for PR 186 TRT have been working in that position for that salary for 2+ years because a lot of businesses (mainly restaurants) do dodgy deals with their employees, the department looks deeper into their finances and business structure I suppose. Some genuine applicants suffer from this unfortunately.
